Humming noise i have a GE nautilus GSD2200 model which has not been used more than 4 years that is giving me trouble.  it's making a loud humming noise (the noise comes and goes, comes and goes) which seems to be coming from the motor area at the bottom of the unit.  I stopped it in the middle of the cycle, but the water seems to be stagnant at the bottom.  any suggestion on fixing the problem myself?

I'm attempting to reuse a Maytag dishwasher motor for a bench grinder. Since this is a reversible motor, I'm not sure how to connect the wiring to a simple switch so that it works in one direction only. The motor has 4 wires: blue, gray, red, yellow. Not sure which to connect to the hot (black), return (white) and ground (bare) wires from the romex and can't find a wiring diagram online for this dishwasher. Any ideas? Thanks.

Kenmore Model 1590 Dishwasher, 1985, sitting unused since about 1994. Takes water into tub but never goes through any washing/rinsing cycles; water stands in bottom (I stop it below door level). A click, like a solenoid activation from the timer area, but motor never does anything. Removed the shroud covering what I assume is the impeller, which was stuck, but freed it by turning several times...made no difference. Suggestions??

Latley the motor has been squeeling a bit and the dishes have not been clean so obviosley something has taken a dump! I just need to know were to start, is it the water valve or circulation pump and how do I test them?

DISHWASHER NOISE I HAVE A HOTPOINT DISHWASHER MODEL HDA3420Z02BB SERIAL # TT813162Y. IT IS ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD AND JUST TONIGHT DEVELOPED A CLICKING/ GRINDING NOISE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DISHWASHER. I REMOVED THE LOWER COVERS AND IT APPEARS TO BE COMONG FROM THE MOTOR AREA OR I GUESS THAT IS THE PUMP ATTACHED TO IT. JUST WONDERED IF THERE IS A PATTERN FAILURE WITH THIS MODEL AND IF SO IS IT FAIRLY EASY REPAIRED?

A noise could be created by something getting down into the motor-pump assembly piece of glass, piece of bone, wire tie anything really. If this is the case and you can remove it before it causes further damage problem solved. At ten years old the ... Hotpoint 24 in. HDA3400G Built-in Dishwasher

I have a GE potscrubber Dishwasher Model # GSD3630ZZ3WW it has been leaking from the bottom for about a week. I took the bottom off tonight and ran the dishwasher so that I could see where it is leaking from. It is not a hose but the leak seems to be coming from the back of the motor or pump fan where it goes into that plastic housing that attaches to the bottom of the dishwasher seems to be leaking in the very center of that housing where the motor shaft enters the housing. Oddly it seems like the line power to DW goes all the way thru the unit and back through the nutural wire. Could the motor windings be burnt out?

The supply water connection on the bottom of the dishwasher has an ever so slight leak. Not the compression part, but the larger connection that goes directly into the dishwasher. I know it is not supposed have any leakage. Need some peace of mind please.
