Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

I HAVE A BOSCH SHU5305 DISHWASHER THAT WHEN IT IS TURNED ON IT WILL NOT DRAW WATER FOR THE WASH. IT JUST SITS THERE AND HUMS. HAD A BIT OF WATER FROM THE SINK BACK UP IN THE DISHWASHER AND SPILL OVER ONTO THE FLOOR YESTERDAY. I CLEANED THE DISHWASHER FILTER WHICH WAS COMPLETELY CLOGGED. I THINK THE DISHWASHER WORKED FINE PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT BUT THIS COULD ALL BE COINCIDENCE. I DON'T KNOW IF I HAVE A PLUMMING PROBLEM OR A WASHER PROBLEM. THE SINK WATER WORKS FINE. I CHECKED THE ON/OFF WATER VA

Answers :

If the solenoid valve is humming and calling for water, you probably have a plugged screen in the valve, some you can get to and clean, some you have to replace.

The ge profile dishwasher model PDW8280J10SS was purchased about 2 yrs ago. It was working fine up until Jan. 2009. It ran fine but the water stopped draining. I read were you should run the garbage disposal prior to running the dishwasher. I drained the water and did this. It worked fine for a while then the problem was back. A GE triton dishwasher causes hammer noise when stops filling. The sink faucet works fine as do all the other faucets in the house. I cleaned all of the traps in the dishwasher. Because the sink works, I don't think it is a sink valve problem. I turned off the water to the house and drained the system, the air chambers should be good. Is there some component of the dishwasher that could be causing the noise? Would cleaning the pump help? If so, how would I do that?

The cause of the hammering noise, (slamming) is due to the water inlet valve on the Dishwasher (DW) shutting off abrutly once the DW reaches the proper amount of water.\015\012\015\012If this is an older DW, you might want to replace the ... GE Dishwashers

Dishwasher will not fill with water. I've already checked the float assembly, that seems to be working fine. The water just doesn't seem to run into the machine. Little history on an unrelated problem: I want to mentioned that not to long ago my brother tried to put a bunch of celery through the garbage disposal. The sinks and pipes got all clogged up and we had to take them apart to clear up. Immediately afterwards the dishwasher stopped filling with water. I don't see how the two can be r

Dishwasher drain is hooked to a food disposer and until recently the unit worked fine. Last week following a cycle a couple of inches of water did not drain out. All food is removed from dishes, silverware, etc. prior to loading and the food trap in the bottom is completely clear. I ran the unit empty through a Lightwash cycle and afterwards the water level (that which didn't drain out) looked to be the same as before. The dishwasher is run 2-3 times weekly whereas the food disposal is

I am having difficulty removing the impeller and items above the pump to see if it is clogged. Do you think I have a partially clogged pump or a timer issue that prevents the pump from completely emptying the bottom of the dishwasher? Our Whirlpool KUDP01ILBS2 dishwasher isn't working like it used to. Dishes seem to be getting partially clean, they aren't getting dry at all and it seems they may be being rinsed/washed with dirty water. There is plenty of water in the machine when I interupt the cleaning cycle. I always run the hot water in the sink before I start the dishwasher so the first water into the dishwasher is as hot as possible. Also the sani-rinse light is flashing when the cycle "completes".

I have a Viking dishwasher made by Asko. It is less than 6 months old. My bosch dishwasher runs fine, cleans fine, drains fine....but after it has been just sitting for a while, the bottom very slowly fills up with water. Each time we run the machine the water level drains back to the normal amount in the bottom of the washer after the cycle is complete.
