If you look inside the dishwasher paying special atention to the left front corner. Remove the lower dishrack and then you will see a dome shaped piece of plastic attached by one screw. Remove this screw and check and see if the float is gunked up. Sometime you have to remove the lower access panel to remove a little pal nut off the bottom of the float assembly to actually remove it to clean. Clean it real good and reinstall. This should solve your problem.

Hey justaskjoe, you just saved me $100 or more for a trip by a GE technician. Thanks a bunch. GE website has a video that says tap that float with a wooden spatula. I guess GE (or any manufacturer for that matter!) folks would never tell you to open their appliance. So, all the more reason for me that your simple solution was a great saver!

Ge profile dishwasher not draining Model no. pdw9280n20ss I checked the drain line at the garbage disposal. No blockage. Line is clear. The back flow loop is high and not kinked. Only a small trickle of water comes out of the disposal drain at the end of cycle. No forceful pressure of water like before. I removed the smaller grill drain area and cannot feel any objects down in there. I do not know how to remove the larger fine mesh grill on bottom. Any suggestions?

Hi :) We have a Bosch slimline dishwasher type SRS56A02 GB/08 - it doesn't draw in water - the timer counts down but nothing happens. We checked these pages and cleaned the filters on the inlet water line but no change :( I saw that it might be the inlet water valve - is this easy to get to - do we need to take off panels? if so, is there a manual available please? Over the past week or so it had got noiser - it was at its quietest while the water was draining out of the machine.

I removed an old dishwasher and replaced it with this GE 24" Profile GSD533ODO1WW unit. It seems to run through the cycles like it should but it doesn't seem to run any water for some reason. I hooked up a new water line to it and turned it on. There where no leaks that I could see. Is there any installation manual that you could send me to make sure that I didn't miss anything or is there anything that you can tell me that I should look for? Thanks, Jesse

I have a GE Profile, GSD4930X73WW, dishwasher. The upper wash arm is not spraying well at all. I checked the water line from the pump to the upper arm and it's fine. I cleared the filters and cleaned the float. I also took the inlet valve off and cleaned the screen. Although the washer works better overall, the upper arm still does not work well. Nothing appears to be in the upper arm assy to clog water from spraying out. All seems clear from the turbid sensor (next to the pump) through t

I have a Bosch SHU9915UC/U11 dishwasher, installed in 2002. Recently, our hot water heater had to be replaced, and we were without hot water for five days. Air got into the hot water pipes, and dried out all the debri in the lines. I have cleaned these out, and these appliances are fine. Since then, the dishwasher has been shutting
