Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

Water does not get hot. Takes hours to wash and dishes wet when done

Answers :

Dishwashers have a heating element underneath the lower spray arm. It is used to heat the water during the wash and rinse cycles and most use the same element to heat during the drying time.

Now, when a heating element fails, the other common symptom is poor cleaning, with a film on the glassware.

The first thing to do is inspect the heating element for breaks and/or "bubbles" on the surface of the element. Replacing it should clear your problem right up.

Good Luck! Please report back what you find. OK?

I have a 2 year old Electrolux ESL 63010 dishwasher, and it worked perfect until a few days ago, when it did not wash cleanly and the dishes came out cold. I read a few forums and it seemed to indicate the heating element. So I ordered one a fitted it, but still the water is not getting hot, or drying the dishes after the complete cycle. I have done a visual check of the PCB board, which looks clean and good. No error sounds, and it completes all programs, but with cold water and no drying. W

We have a Miele dishwasher. We've had a technician come because the water is not hot enough; the dishes are not dried when we empty it as a matter of fact glasses are stained and wet. After he left, the problems remained. :( We now have an additional problem. We have mildew in our dishwasher!!!!! WE wash dishes daily. WHY do we have these problems? Can we get a technician to resolve these problems permanently? Should we buy another brand?

I may be just repeating what the technician has done, please bear with me. Check first if the heating element inside the dishwasher is heating up to the temperature it is supposed to. You can do a manual inspection just to figure out. It may be a ... Miele Dishwashers

Doesn't appear to be heating as it first sticks at a point I'd expect hot water wash and dishes come out with grease residue and still wet. We are getting a grit on the dishes on the top rack. We have done many things to solve the problem. Running tang crystles, runing CLR through it, taking it apart to check for blockages, checking the impeller on the pump, blowing comprssed air through it, scrubbing the inside many times. The funny thing is it only happens about every third wash cycle or so. The upper spray arm is free with no obstruction. The dishes on the bottom rack are clean. We use Electosol and jet dry. Our water is softened

Dishlex 203 Hi, We only had this dishwasher for a couple of months and when doing a regular cycle, the duration of the cycle is less than 20 minutes, which should be longer. Kenmore model 665.16509200 Does not clean very well and now dry cycle not working. Wash cycle takes almost 2 hours, and still dishes had gradoo and white detergent on them, even ones that were clean when they went in. The drying coil had plastic melted on it once before, so that could have caused that malfunction. I am not so concerned about that, it is the dirty dishes after 2 hours that is driving me nuts. The short wash cycle leaves EVERYTHING dirty, so I just quite even trying that.

Soap problems Not only won't the soap dissolve but there are granules on the inside of my glasses. The dishes are also not getting very clean. I have been using cascade 2 in 1 action packs for a few months now with no problem, they've been great. I had done a wash 2 days before with no problem.

My dishwasher skips the final drain cycle. The lines are all clean and there is no clog. It drains just fine in the beginning of the wash cycle. Every time I do a load of dishes I have to run the full cycle, then leave the machine open for 3-4 hours and start the cycle again and listen for the drain at the beginning of the wash to drain the machine from the initial wash and stop the machine after it is done draining so it won't fill up again. Sometimes we have to unplug it and wait about an hour

Dishwasher problem It is a "classique" dishwasher , about 8 years old, but used only about 50 times max. The dishes are not getting out clean - the washing powder is smeared over them. Most of the dish washing powder (or tablet, tried it both) is not comming out of the powder compartment, despite the fact that we find the compartment open when the washing cycle is done. Sure it is just a "smal quick fix thing" but have not idea what it could be. Pleaseee help!

My dishwasher was moved for kitchen rennovations. When hooked back up again it would not fill up. It will run through a cycle but no water enters. If I squeeze the rubber hose that leads from the electronic valve to the tub it gets hot indicating that I am forcing hot water through the line. If I pour water into the tub it will wash the dishes but at the final 6 minute point it will go no further, I assume because it is not getting rinse water.

Whirlpool GU2300 built in Dishwasher. It rather suddenly began shutting off in mid-cycle. If I cancel or open it, getting it to finish the cycle or even drain takes many tries.Once started, the cycle might take several hours with long pauses during the cycle. When it puases, none of the lights are on at all. If the cycle is disturbed, the normal wash light blinks, and if I hit cancel, the cancel light and the normal wash light blink.
