MAYTAG MDBO880AWB LEAKS FROM LEFT SIDE DOOR ONLY SOMETIMES AND

\015 I HAVE A MAYTAG MDBO880AWB DISHWASHER ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. IT LEAKS FROM THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DOOR ONLY SOMETIMES . THE DOOR FROM THE LEFT SIDE LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A BIGGER GAP THEN THE RIGHT SIDE WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED. WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN IT DOES NOT LAY FLAT AS THE SPRING IS VERY STRONG AND LIFTS THE DOOR UP HALF WAY. I NEED TO PULL OUT THE BOTTOM RACK TO KEEP THE DOOR OPEN. I SUSPECT ONE OF MY KIDS LEANED DOWN ON THE DOOR VERY HARD ( OR SAT ON IT) AND POSSIBLY CHANGED THE SPRING SET UP ON THE DOOR HING???? WHICH NOTCH DOES THE SPRING BELONG ON???? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS\015

Answers :

If the door is sprung in a manner that one side is flush and not other then most likely the hinge has been bent outward by the weight placed on it.the best solution would be to replace hinge, the spring only adjusts the tension for door closing. There is a slight possibility that either the frame or the door has bent in this manner so before buying hinge check frame and door for damage, after doing repair would suggest adjusting front legs of unit to raise front up a bit to ensure leaking wont continue

Maytag Dishwasher Quiet Series 300 Door Leak: Model No. MDB8600AWG: The door leaks both from just beneath the touch pad at the top of the door, leaving a streak down the center face of the door (minor annoyance) as well as from the bottom left and right corners, more of a concern. I have cleaned both door gaskets and tried to reseat the inside door panel, to no avail. I have a Maytag MDB7600AWB dish washer. I have a door leak, dripping from the right side. I can not see anything that would allow it. It seems like it could be coming from the inside of the door. Also, there is heat and condensation on at the top of the door, above the leak. It could be that steam is coming from the top right and dripping down the door. Could you give me some idea about fixing the problem.

Kenmore model#587(Frigidaire) leaks under door. New install. Had machine for a year plus before install. took off front panel- can see water squirting past lower door gasket as wash arms rotate. cause is water running down door during wash cycle piles up in the channels molded into the lower left & right side of the wash tub and pushes out the sides of the lower gasket. looks like a design issue- called SEARS, they just want to sell me a new gasket! go figure. any ideas on a fix?

It does sound like an inner door seal ,however If you get upset at Sears and complain they may help you as they say the squeaky hinge gets the oil..And with Sears the more you squeak the better your chances of results ...Good Luck ... Dishwashers
