Air in water lines from cistern water pump in house.

\015 I use a cistern and my pump is in the basement. Every time I turn on a water faucet I get blasts of air out of the faucet, spraying water everywhere. Same th8ng happens with washer, toilet etc.\015

Answers :

Sounds like you either have a leak or the water is returning into the cistern thus filling the lines with air and you getting a blast of air and water. I don't know much about them but logic tells me there should be some type of valve that keeps the water from back flowing into the cistern.
Somehow your pump is pulling air in when it pumps. A cracked fitting will do that, but a cracked fitting ususlly leaks water, too. If your pump is having too dificult a time pulling water from the cistern, it may pull air through it's shaft seal to the motor. If your pump uses an air volume control, it may be putting too much air into your pressure tank. That can happen if the pump is short-cycling, that is: turning off and on too often. Keep in touch, there's a lot of things that can happen to plumbing.

Magic Chef DU4K is not draining all the water. There's at least a gallon of water standing in the bottom. I have cleaned the air gap assembly and drain line completely. They were even sanitized in hot water. I do not hear the water draining like it use to. When it worked properly you could always hear water draining into the GD. Now I can hear any draining. Again, there is no clogging anywhere in the drain line assembly. Is it a bad pump. I don't know where to go next with this.

Disposal plugged up and water backed up into dishwasher. Cleared disposal and dishwasher drain line. Checked around sump but dishwasher won't pump out. Sounds like pump is trying to run. I can blow air through the drain hose from the disposal and get bubbles in the water. Turned off breaker for 1 min. then tried reset. Can hear pump humming.

The pump is humming because its still trying to get all the water out of the unit. Deinstall the dishwasher and pull the entire dishwasher out from under your cabinet. Next step would be to disconnect the drain line from the drain pump and check to ... Dishwashers

A GE triton dishwasher causes hammer noise when stops filling. The sink faucet works fine as do all the other faucets in the house. I cleaned all of the traps in the dishwasher. Because the sink works, I don't think it is a sink valve problem. I turned off the water to the house and drained the system, the air chambers should be good. Is there some component of the dishwasher that could be causing the noise? Would cleaning the pump help? If so, how would I do that?

The cause of the hammering noise, (slamming) is due to the water inlet valve on the Dishwasher (DW) shutting off abrutly once the DW reaches the proper amount of water.\015\012\015\012If this is an older DW, you might want to replace the ... GE Dishwashers

GE Dishwasher model PDW8200J03BB stopped draining. Removed the drain pump, checked with Voltmeter and there is resistance on ohms X10 of about 3. The flap is in place so water isn't shooting back into the sump inlet. Replaced the sump inlet about 6 months ago because it was deteriorated due to hard water. Pump worked fine after that. Checked drain hoses and air gap. Was able to blow water through. Pump only trickles water out at air gap. Does the pump need replaced?

My Siemens dishwasher SL34A sometimes makes loud vibration noises from the supply line at the water pump connection. I can turn off the water and back on it will quit, but sometimes starts again. And it does not matter how open or closed the supply line valve is either. I'm told it is likely the water pump, but this model has a combination water pump/motor assembly and I do not care to put another $230 into it. thx, TS.

Our bosch dishwasher runs but no water is spraying on the inside. Is there a water filter clean out or is there a water pump that might be broken? I checked the line coming in and it isn't plugged. I made sure where the stainless line goes into the electric valve that it wasn't plugged to that point. I could see anywhere else to check if it was plugged. I figure there has to be a water pump, but I guess I'm not sure of that either. Thanks for any help..

The water is not draining from machine, although the pump is obviously trying. It doesn't sound quite right. Kind of a growling noise. It can pump water into tubs when experimenting with ideas, but can't pump hard enough to pump the water into the sink. This is all done with the hose removed so we could check for debris in the line. I've checked the filters and they are clean and clear. This is a used machine a friend gave me, and it's been working beautifully until now.

Water problem Hi, I have a Jenn air DW 711 that does not get water. I checked the following: Water line: I unhooked the water line and it is clear & free flowing. I have a Bosch SHU9915UC/U11 dishwasher, installed in 2002. Recently, our hot water heater had to be replaced, and we were without hot water for five days.
