The dishwasher will not drain all the way it is a DU810SWLQO

HI. check the following areas for faults.

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).
Had the same problem. On my unit, the seal between the tub and the ball valve became dislodged (not sure whatt it's called, but its the part that is directly underneath the strainer). I had to remove the dishwasher and turn it on it's face to get to the valve. There are 4 screws that hold it on. When you get it off, you'll see the seal is probably kinked. Simple fix, but this has happed to me on 2 occasions in the last year. I haven't purchased another seal yet, but that's the next step for me.

My bosh dishwasher SHX55M06UC/46 will not drain. A new disposal was put in and the dishwasher drain plug was not punched out and the dishwasher was ran that way. Now it just holds water in the bottom. I've tried resetting or canceling the wash cycle but that doesn't work and the washing cycle works fine. I'm hoping there is a reset or a safety for the pump if it gets clogged.

Bosch SHU992SUC Dishwasher does not drain. It's not clogged in the external hose, the filters are not dirty. I moved the Dishwasher outside and ran it with the input attached to the garden hose and the output drain hose laying on the ground so there is absolutely no chance of restriction due to the way it's plumbed in. This model does not even show up on Bosch web site. I guess I have to start taking apart the machine blind with no service manual. Ideas? It's less than 10 years old I think. M

My Whirlpool dishwasher will wash fine, but when it drains, it's a slow trickle. I've snaked the line from the sink to the washer, but I can't find a clog. If I try to blow into the drain pipe all I accomplish is almost passing out. I can't blow all the way through it. When I hit the drain button, I hear the solenoid kick on with a rattle, then just a hum. Like I said, I just get a trickle, and the basin never drains completely. It's driving me crazy! Help? Thanks.

Whirlpool Quiet Wash Plus dishwasher Model DU920PFGZ3. Worked fine until I replaced the insinkerator and forgot to punch the drain plug leaving water standing on the bottom of the machine. I punched the drain opening, and pushed the cancel/drain cycle button. It drained fine but since no water comes from the spray arms. I have removed the arm all the way down..NOTHING!! Some research indicated it could be the water inlet valve. When the buttons are pushed, it cycles but no spray or water.

Dishwasher fills with hot water. Float OK - water feed stops when full. Motor humms but no water spray (in all opperating modes). Cancel selection (with cancel button) and close the door. The water drains then the unit shuts off. Water feed OK. Drain Cycle OK. Looks like spray pump hung but do not know. Cannot find a reset button (as with disposal) or way to free hung pump motor. I did see glass pieces in the drain. Possibly a small piece hanging the motor.

When we do not use the dishwasher for a week or more water seems to back up into the tub. The water has a foul smell to it and can be as much as an inch or so deep. The dishwasher drain hose is attached to an insinkerator disposal. By the way this dishwasher is only a couple of months old and we have had to have it serviced three times. No one has been able to explain the water accumulation and it can not be demonstrated unless the washer sits unused for a while.
