Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

For over six months our dishes (especially glass and china) aare covered in a gritty, darkish material. We often have to rewqsh or hand-wah these items afterwards. We have tried numerous rinse additives, run the dishwasher empty, rinsed 2 or 3 times, and disconnected the hose from the drain and run it into a bucket to see these fine particles. I remved and cleaned the bottom filter a month age. It was mildly dirty (not clogged or filthy) but no improvement was seen. Any suggestions? The dishwash

I would guess that you run out of hot water in your house pretty quickly. if so, your water heater tank needs drained. hook a hose to the bottom outlet on the tank. shut off the cold water supply to the tank. open up the hot water on a nearby sink. drain the tank into a sump or a drain or a bucket that is lower than the tank. it will cost you 40 or 50 gallons of water, but it should clear up the sediment that you see floating in your hot water supply. you might have to do it twice. good luck

My Professional series dishwasher does not work properly. It is only 1.5 years old and glasses on top rack get sprayed with fine layer of particles every time I use it. Other items, top and bottom, are often not clean as well, but glasses are the hardest to re-clean. I have tried evacuating the water left at the bottom of the dishwasher before running, pre-running the hot water in the sink and ensuring that the disposal was run, removing and cleaning the filter at the bottom of the washer. I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II model DU1100XTPQ7. The top rack is not clean after the dishwasher runs. We cleaned both sprayers with pipe cleaner & ran water through the lower sprayer with a hose. Then we let the dishwasher soak overnight with a gallon of vinegar in it. After running that through a cycle, we still see no improvement. We do have very hard water here; I add 1/2 cup of vinegar to every load. Any suggestions? Heather

MAYTAG MDBH979AWS DOES NOT SEEM TO FILL WITH WATER, AND HAS STOPPED CLEANING THE DISHES..My husband took everything apart and we cleaned each piece and put it back together , there was no indication that anything was clogged, and he was able to determine that water was coming in to the washer, but dishes are still dirty. There seems to be soap residue on the bottom of the tub. We also check to see if it was draining properly and that was fine also. Any other suggestions?

My glassware almost seems like it has breadcrumbs stuck to it. I have run several empty cycles but the problem persists. Is there a filter I am supposed to be cleaning or something? My soap cap remains in the closed position at all times. The clasp mechanism works fine, if I cycle through with the door open I can see and hear the catch release when it should. But the door remains closed at all times. I leave it open to run, and sometimes it's closed when the wash cycle finishes! Is there an easy way to take the cap off and clean it?
