Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

Hi Model DU1048XTPQ4...when I started the DW today, it sounded kind of loud. I let it continue, then I smelled something burning. What I think happened is that the lower spray arm is too loose-so when it spins, it gets stuck on the heat ring on the bottom of the DW and then the plastic parts start to melt. We disassembled the spray arm and there was lots of calcium/lime build-up. So we cleaned all of that out, put it all back together, but the spray still seems too wobbly. Went ahead and start

The noise coming is from the motor bearings or the impeller which moves with the motor.both has to be checked.\015\012if the bearings are making noise motor needs replacement and if impeller is cracked it needs replacement.\015\012you can get required parts from \015\012www.repairclinic.com\015\012Motor and pump assembly screw and impellor help....

One of the most common question that I get on a dishwasher repair is "how does that motor and pump impellor screw come out?"
Inside many dishwasher pump assemblies is a screw that goes through the upper impellor and screws directly into the motor shaft. Since the motor shaft and screw are made of metal...you guessed it...they can / will rust. The screw can rust and become very tight and difficult to remove!! These screws are normally a right ( regular ) hand thread, socket or nut driver can be used to remove the screw. One hard thing to do is to hold the impellor still so the screw can be removed, they often just turn together. The impellor may be jammed with a screwdriver to hold it still so the screw can be removed...sometimes the impellor can be help still by placing a rag on it and hold tight with your hand, the rag will help prevent a sharp edge on the impellor from cutting your fingers. The odd time that screw is too rusted into place, soaking a little rust buster or 3in1 oil on it over night may help loosen it. Sometimes trying to tighten the screw a little at first will help break it free. There are some tool ( see below ) that can be purchased to help hold the impellor still so the screw can be removed, these are only for a few models and pump assembly styles.
Once the screw is removed, the next obstacle is the impellor can also get stuck onto the motor shaft. Many times I have to break off the old impellor. A sharp blow straight down with a hammer and flat screwdriver will often crack the plastic impellor...carefulnot to damage the pump body! If the motor shaft has indeed rusted, clean it up really good with sand cloth.

My dishwasher did not clean well. I replaced the seal on the bottom spray arm. there is a wobble now. the nut does not seem to screw down tightly. there is nothing wrong with the nut, it simply does not reach. I don't know if the lower arm is supposed to wobble, or if the nut should screw down tight. I can't seem to find a picture anywhere so I can visualize exactly how the spray are fits together. I have a 13 year old Siemens SE64630GB. It isn't cleaning items in the upper basket and I believe it's due to lack of water pressure in the upper spray arm leading to little or no rotation of the arm. Have cleaned out the drainage pump and removed and cleaned both the water feed pipe to the upper arm (a lot of gunk in there) and the spray arm itself (which also had blocked nozzles) - no apparent blockages now. Could there be a blockage in the circulation pump and if so how do I access this pump

Karcher 2400R I have not used my pressure washer for 6 months. It was left full of gas in the garage. I tried to start it but it would not fire up so I change the gas, oil, and spark plug, took apart the carburator and cleaned it out with carb cleaner. I went ahead and put everything together, pull the cord and wanted to start. While trying to start it after I sprayed starting fluid in the air cleaner I noticed that gas was coming back from the crankcase breather hose into the air filter choking
