Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

The platter rotation mechanism is weak.

\015 The platter rotation mechanism on my GE JES831WB 001 microwave is weak. It won't rotate with the platter on it. Is this belt driven and how do you access the mechanism?\015

Answers :

This is commonly caused by a turntable motor that has worn out and needs replaced.

The motor can be replaced by following these steps:

1. Unplug microwave.
2. Open oven door and remove glass tray and carousel ring.
3. Locate and remove the screws holding the bottom panel (under the microwave) in place. With the screws removed, the bottom panel should open.
4. Disconnect the connector plug from the turntable motor.
5. Reach inside the oven and remove the coupler. This is the small plastic piece that the center of the glass tray sits on. You may have to gently pry up with a flat screwdriver to get it to come loose.
6. With the coupler removed, loosen the mounting screw(s) to the motor and it should easily come out from under the oven.
7. Install new motor in the reverse order of the steps I just provided.

This is a very simple repair. If the model number you have this question listed under is correct, the part number for a replacement motor is WB26X10024. It sells for about $17 at searspartsdirect.com.

I have a GE side by side Model #GSH25KGPA refridgerator with a water & ice dispenser. I cannot get the ice to dispense. Water works fine. I removed the ice storage drawer and top shelf and note that the drive mechanism will not rotate either clockwise or otherwise. My manual indicates I should be able to rotate it clockwise a 1/4 turn. Can you help?

Running without spar bars attached (including mechanism feeding to bar, water is only being forced out of the from outlet. Any ideas before I start taking it apart

The dishwasher has three arms in it. The top and bottom arm do not rotate. The middle arm rotates fine. The arms will move when manually munipulated but do not spill while the dishwasher is on. There was a loud grinding the first time the dishwasher was used and it seemed to work fine but after about two months of use the arms will not rotate.

Sounds like maybe some rinsing salt was spilled when the salt reservoir was filled the first time (or broken glass, this always used to be an issue in catering) and got pumped through, lodging in the gap between the arm and it's mounting. this can ro ... Maytag Dishwasher

In replacing the float that senses water level, I see that the whole assembly is free to rotate after the c-clip is reinstalled. Past experience is that sometimes this plastic float will be found upside-down, on top of the probe which houses the reed switch & thermistor temperature sensor. What's to keep the float from rotating like this? Nothing appears to be broken or missing on the assembly from what I can see. THANKS!!!.......Lee

You may have installed the stainless float retainer backwards. The hook on the retainer that holds the float faces the tank wall and fits into a flat on the probe. This prevents the rotation and will better secure the float. ... Hobart 42 in. AM14C-154 Free-standing Dishwasher
