Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

Re: Bosch Dishwasher Model SHX46B06UC/14 (year 2003) Good afternoon, I have water dripping into my dishwasher when it is not in use, approximately up to 1/2 inch over a few hours. The water collects at the bottom inside the dishwasher. I have to shut off the dishwasher water supply so that it does not overflow. Other than that, the dishwasher works perfect! Any idea as to what has to be replaced? Can I do it myself or do I have to call a technician. Thanks very much for your help.

HI. This type of issue will be the result of mechanical failure. This failure will be within the inlet assembly. Debris may be keeping the solenoid valve from closing correctly, thus, producing the steady drip affect, when the unit is not in operation. This can be caused by a high mineral content in your water supply, essentially, building up mineral deposits in the valves structure. This will take sometime to form, but when enough has build up, it will prevent the valve from closing all the way.

To access the inlet valve remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel. The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it. One hose will lead from the valve to the pump/motor assembly in the center of the dishwasher. There are two wires (four, if it has two solenoids) connected to the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced. Due to the fact that this is an internal issue, the valve filters are not replaceable. Your only recourse will be to replace this damaged valve.

Once replaced, the unit will be able to control the water flow, correctly.

Inlet Part Number - 425458
Make sure at the bottom of the dishwasher where the food collects that the filters are empty. Once you verify that these are empty the water shouldn't collect there.

After that make sure there are no kinks in the water line cause that can cause the water to back up as well.

Also if there are any other filters, make sure they are clean.

Dishwasher not working. Two weeks ago the heating cycle didn't switch itself off but appeared to correct itself. Now there is no water in the cycle... pump and heater working, just no water reaching the arms of the dishwasher. Any ideas why?
