  1. Check the water temperature. \015\012Should be 125 to 140 F.
    \015\012
  2. \015\012
  3. Check pump re-circulation., \015\012Listen, see if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough \015\012pressure.
    \015\012
  4. \015\012
  5. Check water level when the \015\012fill cycle has completed. Should be just under the heating element. If not, \015\012possibly need to replace the water inlet valve.
    \015\012
  6. \015\012
  7. Check the spray arm and pump \015\012cover for splits or leaks.
    \015\012
  8. \015\012
  9. Check to make sure dishwasher \015\012is draining after each cycle. There should only be a little water in the bottom \015\012of the tub.
    \015\012
  10. \015\012
  11. Make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.
    \015\012
  12. \015\012
  13. Possibly try a different \015\012detergent. Some liquid-gels will bubble and a pump cannot pump bubbles.

\015\012\015\012\015\012If your dishwasher is \015\012cleaning poorly, check these:

Water-inlet valve
Most cleaning problems are caused by the \015\012dishwasher not getting enough wash water, so the water-inlet valve is often to \015\012blame. This valve is usually at the bottom left or right of the dishwasher, \015\012behind the lower access panel. It's the device with the main water line from the \015\012house, a rubber tube to the dishwasher, and two wires attached to it.
When a water-inlet valve is defective, you \015\012may hear the sound that's usually referred to as "water hammer." If the \015\012water-inlet valve is defective, you need to completely replace it.

Internal filters
Every \015\012dishwasher has some type of filter to keep large food particles and foreign \015\012objects away from the pump assembly:
Most modern dishwashers have self-cleaning filters that don't \015\012need any routine cleaning.
Some \015\012have filters in the bottom of the dishwasher that you need to periodically \015\012clean. You don't need any tools to remove the filter, and cleaning it is easy. \015\012Consult your owner's manual to determine which type you have and its maintenance \015\012requirements.
If your filter is \015\012clogged, it may be causing the cleaning problem.

Drain \015\012valve
Some dishwashers have a valve (or gate) that should open only \015\012during draining. If debris lodges in the valve, it can't close properly, so \015\012water drains out during the wash cycle. Most dishwashers drain into the garbage \015\012disposer. If yours does that, listen for water flowing into the disposer during \015\012the wash cycle. If you can hear it then, the drain valve may be \015\012clogged.

Spray \015\012arms
There's a spray arm at the bottom of your dishwasher--it may \015\012have a tall spray tube mounted to the center of it. There may also be a spray \015\012arm located directly beneath the upper rack of dishes and/or above the upper \015\012rack.
If debris is blocking the \015\012holes in the spray arms where the water comes out, it could cause cleaning \015\012problems. Regularly inspect each of the spray arms and clean out the holes as \015\012necessary.

Our Whirlpool KUDP01ILBS2 dishwasher isn't working like it used to. Dishes seem to be getting partially clean, they aren't getting dry at all and it seems they may be being rinsed/washed with dirty water. My Asko D1976 dishwasher is not cleaning dishes properly. There is a lot of clumped detergent left in the dispenser after wash cycles are complete, and many of the dishes have dried-on food left on them. I rinse dishes before loading them into the washer, I have made sure the jets and washer arms are clean, and made sure the food trap at the bottom of the washer is empty, yet the problem persists. I think it has to do with the detergent not dissolving and dispensing. Is there some reason the

The "clean" light blinks 8 times, then there is a pause, then it blinks once. The dishes are clean but not dry, as if it has not completed the drying cycle.
