2 inches of water left inside bottom of dishwasher after a cycle

\015 I have a Sears Kenmore model# 587703300 dishwasher. It has been sitting unused for about 3 years. It appears to fill and wash just fine, but after a complete cycle there is about 2 inches of water left inside the unit. The drain hose to the sink is not clogged. Ideas are much appreciated.\015

Sounds to me as if there is a obstruction in the pump or the pump is fualty,I would suggest that you open the bottom panel(remember to unplug the unit first)locate the pump, disconect the hoses from the pump and feel inside the hoses first, thenfeel inside the houseing where the two hoses connect, you should be able to turn the impeller easily, also do a visual check to see if there is any damage to the impeller,(at this point I would test before moving on to the next step)if all is well and no problem found then I would look at the pressure switch, this you will need to look for a round unit it will have two or three wires connected to it and a plastic tube on the one end,it is flat at the botttom with the wires connected to the top and the tube on the rounded edge,I would simply replace it.Give this a try and it should solve the problem,

I have a kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher, Model 15825691. We were recently hit by lighting. Once hit, the dishwasher started up. Since then, all cycles work, however, at the end of any cycle, the dishwasher continues to run and fill the bottom of the washer up to about two inches and then cuts off, so when we open the washer, there is approx 2 inches of water inside no matter what. I have pressed the "Cancel/Drain" button, in which drains the water after two minutes, but when that is finished, the

Dishwasher leaking Our dishwasher all of a sudden started leaking. I've taken the front panel off the door and can see exactly where. It's not a hole or anything...it's at the front, left edge of the basin, the bottom left corner at the front. It seems that right after it fills with water, it starts to leak once water is moving around inside and washing cycle starts. It is as if big waves are being pushed to the front left corner and over the lip of the basin. I don't think the water level is to

I could see that water was pumping out the clear drain pipe but there was still about an inch of standing water in the bottom. Any thoughts as to what part has failed. Does the system use a water level switch or a timed drain cycle to determine when the water has pumped out. If it is a timed cycle could a slow drain cause the problem. Thank you
