Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

Seems that food particles are "regurgitating" back up into the dishwasher and leaving grit on dishes - primarily glasses and silverware. Have had dishwasher probably 3 years -maybe less. Don't know what kind of tool to use to remove the bottom "filter??"

Answers :

That "grit" you are referring to is actually coming from your detergent. It is part of the cleaning enzymes that assist in scrubbing your dishes. If it is ending up on your dishes, you are on the right track. You need to check the main wash pump and clean as necessary to ensure there are no obstructions on the sump area. The drain pump inlet is also in this area and should additionally be checked for debris. If you could please post back with a model number, I may be able to give you further guidance on how to disassemble the spray arm so you can access this area.

We recieved a dishwasher that had tons of lime and scale. well i remove that mostly by hand by taking the bottom part and disassemblying it and soaking it in CLR and slowly removing the calcium lime and whatever else there was. but i am kind of a thorough person and the bar =on the back of the dish wash needs to be removed and the back of it cleaned and probably soaked also if not replaced but i will just clean it for right now if i can. My Professional series dishwasher does not work properly. It is only 1.5 years old and glasses on top rack get sprayed with fine layer of particles every time I use it. Other items, top and bottom, are often not clean as well, but glasses are the hardest to re-clean. I have tried evacuating the water left at the bottom of the dishwasher before running, pre-running the hot water in the sink and ensuring that the disposal was run, removing and cleaning the filter at the bottom of the washer. Miele dishwasher G2870 scm. There is an F14 fault. I have cleaned the arms removed the waste basket from the bottom of the dishwasher and removed the two parts one with the large metal ball to expose the plastic wheel clog. There does not appear to be a blockage. I also removed the top arm and cleaned that out. I don't know what other inlets to check as the guide does not tell me exactly what an F14 fault is but explains F11,12,13. Can you help?

I have an old Bauknecht dishwasher GSF 3160 S that a friend gave us 10 years ago. It was stored for that time, and now if I try to use it, it leaks out through the bottom and floods the kitchen. I would like to know 1) is it worth fixing from the point of view of how energy/water efficient (or inefficient) an old dishwasher is - if you know the specs for this particular machine, and 2) what needs to be changed if it is worthwhile fixing. I don't know what else might not work, because I only pu

My two year old Bosch dishwasher is not cleaning well and is leaving gritty food on most glasses, cutlery, etc. Worse on the top but also not good on the bottom. I have tried cleaning the removable filter on the bottom and rinsing the two 'wands' - one on top and on the bottom so that the little holes are not blocked. I've tried using the power scrub mode. I've run the dishwasher twice with detergent and no dishes. This has problem has persisted over at least a month. Can you please help me?

I am having difficulty removing the impeller and items above the pump to see if it is clogged. Do you think I have a partially clogged pump or a timer issue that prevents the pump from completely emptying the bottom of the dishwasher? I have a feeling that some kind of the valve is not working correctly which allows the water from the sink drain to come back? Am I right? Is it a big re[pair or marginal? Hello, I have a Kitchen Aid dishwasher, model KUDS30IVWH3. The dishes have not been getting as clean lately, the bottom is decent but the top rack is not getting very clean. Also, when I open the door after the cycle is done, there's a bunch of detergent at the bottom of the door and on the floor of the dishwasher, like it isn't getting sprayed all over or something. Don't know if I have to check the water intake valve or if maybe the sprayers could be partially clogged.

I have Frigidaire model FDB130RGS3. This seems like a pretty cheap dishwasher that is provided by my management company. This is third dishwasher I've had in this apartment. The others have all broken. Now this one, which is less than 6 months old, seems to have broken. It does not clean the dishes. I removed the round plastic cover in the base of the dishwasher and the bottom of the dishwasher (sorry don't know how else to describe this) is filled with dirty water. I drained the water and tried

DISHWASHER NOISE I HAVE A HOTPOINT DISHWASHER MODEL HDA3420Z02BB SERIAL # TT813162Y. IT IS ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD AND JUST TONIGHT DEVELOPED A CLICKING/ GRINDING NOISE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DISHWASHER. I REMOVED THE LOWER COVERS AND IT APPEARS TO BE COMONG FROM THE MOTOR AREA OR I GUESS THAT IS THE PUMP ATTACHED TO IT. JUST WONDERED IF THERE IS A PATTERN FAILURE WITH THIS MODEL AND IF SO IS IT FAIRLY EASY REPAIRED?

SHX46B I have a 4 year old Dishwasher that filled up with clean water on it's own and leaked on the floor. There appears to ba a float switch switch on the very bottom of the unit that runs the pump if this happens. I have a GLD 4456R00CS dishwasher that is maybe 6 months old. It seems to cycle properly, but has never really cleaned the dishes. This is the worst dishwasher we've ever had (over 25 years) and I'm ready to take it to the street. I've cleaned the screen (was already clean), checked the spray bars for clogs (removed, sprayed water through it, and replaced), and looked for any other obvious problem.

Hi - bought this dishwasher 1 year ago yesterday (it figures). Discovered last night that it hadn't drained properly the last time I used it (maybe 5 days before). I have a Briggs & Stratton Pro 3400 pressure washer that I got new last year and used for maybe 5 hours and it worked great. Have had it stored since then with stabilizer in the gas (I didn't run it dry) and now it won't run for more than a minute or two without dying. A dealer said it was probably bad gas and I now know that even with the stabilizer I should have run it dry last year before storing.
