Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

I have a whirlpool 940 series dishwasher yhat seems to be stuck on the Pots/Pans wash cycle. Is there a way to clear or does someone understand what the problem might be or a resolution?

Hi Sam, I am Kelly.
\015\012If pressing Cancel Drain 2 times after a power up from power being disconnected does not reset the controls you have a problem in the control boad itself. Usually what happens on an older unit is corrosion starts building up on the PCB and the "stray trons" start causing havoc. You can attempt to salvage your board by simply cleaning it with a DRY Q-tip(s) and or paper towels. I occasionally use isoprophyl alcohol on the Q-tip only to help in corrosion removal.
\015\012Most of the time what happens is the corrosion forms across soldered component pins and you end up with all kinds of weird thing happening. You can probably nurse it for a while but I can tell you once corrosion starts causing weird things you eventually have to change the main board to stop the gremlin madness. The main boards are not cheap... however being this a whirlpool the parts are USUALLY cheaper than most others out there. There are exceptions.
\015\012Probably not the news you wanted to hear Sam.
\015\012Thanks for using FixYa.

Hello. Actually, this is not really a bad thing because with it being flu season, that cycle does the best job of killing germs. If you want to reset your machine go to your electrical panel and turn off the power to your dishwasher for at least two full minutes. Then restore the power and check to see that the other cycles are available to you. Regards, Joe

Am15 dishwasher problem: The pad will only turn on and off. Can't get it to cycle. Was on cycle 4 needed cycle 1. Got it to cycle 1, but now on and cycle does not work and when I push the off button it reboots to on. I put new pad on thinking it was the pad but same problem. Question: Is there a way to reset the board? should I be looking some where else? I cut the power at the breaker box to see if that might reset with no luck.

We have a KitchenAid dishwasher (KUDI01FLSS6) which has not been working properly for a long time. We have the dreaded green blinking light mystery. We have found that if we run the sink water until it is hot, then start the dishwasher, and then after ten minutes we open then shut the door, it will consistently run the full cycle perfectly. Does this give you any hint of what might be the problem component -sensor, element, the

I have a Bosch SMU2046UC/14 dishwasher that makes some noise but will not start the wash cycle. I found that the noise was from the timer motor by removing the front of the door. The timer continues to run and but only advances until half way through the wash cycle where it stops permanently. Is this a problem with the timer or could something else be causing this problem.
