Having problems with your Dishwashers ?

Portable Dishwasher Hello, We just got a used Haier portable dishwasher, model HDP18PA and while the hose connnects fine to the sink, the water isn't going into the dishwasher and is coming out of the connection. Does that make sense? It looks like, if it operates properly, the water should be sucked into the dishwasher but the connector isn't pulling the water in. Help! Thank you! Tara

Answers :

You have to have a good seal. Get a hose washer from your local hardware store and replace both of them on the hose if they are like a garden hose. If you still don't get any water to the unit, post again and I'll step you through it.

My dishwasher is making a noise and will not drain. when I looked underneath, the thing that connects to the hoses was what was making the noise. It looks like some sort of motor and has copper coils in it. the water from the dishwasher flows to it and I guess it pushs the water on threw.

I have a portable Sears dishwasher model # 66517769k600. It makes grinding noises when empying out the water, then stops. Sounds like maybe something is jaming the inpeller blades on the pump that removes the water as Water is left in dishwasher. It will restart in about 15 mins , run for 15 to 20 sec and stop again with same noises. What needs to be done to fix this issue? Approximate cost of part? Thanks in Advance, Chris

I have a Siemens Dishwasher. I'm not sure of the model but it is built in, has concealed controls and was purchased about 6 years ago at Best Buy. It sort of looks like the SL85. When started, it runs for a few minutes and then starts to make a horrible sound. ALmost a grinding sound but may also be like water trying to get through a small opening. The sound does not stop even after turning off the DW and even the power to it. Only turning off the water supply does it stop. Help?

Maytag HDB8600AWW Dishwasher had been making noise (thought might be water valve, like previous DW), eventually stopped draining water, water now in bottom, I've let sit for couple weeks, looked inside, water was gone, I tried running again, it filled with water, but heard humming control panel noises for first time, then shuts itself off. Also, my handle needs replaced. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks in advance. David Weaver

My Whirlpool Gold dishwasher "shuts down" after the first 2-10 minutes, leaving the Sensing light and the Water Heating light showing. Any suggestions? Also, the horseshoe-shaped metal coil at the bottom of the dishwasher is burnt-colored. When I touch it, it looks like black soot has fallen off of it. Thank you ahead of time for your assistance!

As you mentioned the coil is burned that can also be the problem.it has to be replaced.but also other possibility is faulty shut-off valve in the dishwasher makes the unit shut -off after certain period of time.\015\012----------------\015\012so chec ... Whirlpool Dishwashers

I removed an old dishwasher and replaced it with this GE 24" Profile GSD533ODO1WW unit. It seems to run through the cycles like it should but it doesn't seem to run any water for some reason. I hooked up a new water line to it and turned it on. There where no leaks that I could see. Is there any installation manual that you could send me to make sure that I didn't miss anything or is there anything that you can tell me that I should look for? Thanks, Jesse

GE PDW7300 dishwasher - must slam the door shut to get a light on the panel and when the START button is pressed, it looks like the dishwasher is cycling thru a wash, but there is no water. When I press the START cycle again, it seems like it thinks its pumping the water out for a few minutes, then the light will go off. If I start it again and push really hard against the door, I can hear the water go on. But if I stop pushing the door, the water stops. The dishwasher was installed in 2001, but

My dishwasher is 6 years old it started making clicking and knocking sounds about a week ago. The display is blinking crazy at about 37 minutes left in washing cylce it blinks 37, HO, and CL. It blinks other numbers also. The water still seems to be flowing in and out fine. It's heating up and draining when canceled. I'm running it on normal wash and high temp. cycle. It sounds like the sensing parts in the door are going off and on.

I am a licensed plumber who installed a frigidaire fdb1o5rem1 dishwasher for a customer about 2 years ago. It has water to the solenoid valve and the screen is clean. I can see water coming in to the unit on left side through the port hole on the inside of the unit. Dishes do not get clean and it doesnt act like water is being distrubuted inside the dishwasher. Soap never gets washed away from door. Dishwasher makes funny sound in mid cycle like the pump is not running in wash cycle. Discharge p

The dishwasher doesn't seem to have nearly enough water in it. The upper sprayer arm doesn't seem to be spinning when running (I open the door and look really quick) and the lower one looks like it barely spins and barely sprays water. The dishes are barely wet and the soap is just laying on the bottom. The water is on, there are no kinks in the supply line. It sounds like it is running, and pumps pumping, but being brand new I am not sure what it should sound like. It certainly doesn't sound li

I have a Fisher and Paykel drawer dishwasher and I'm wondering if there's a way to put a panel on it to make it look like and integrated dishwasher. It would need some way of the panel moving to start the dishwasher because the controls are located on the front. I plan on putting it in an Ikea Akurum that is 24" deep. The dishwasher is 22-9/10 deep, so that looks like it would leave some space for the dishwasher to sit back in the cabinet so the door panel could be flush with the cabinet. I'm no

Dishwasher is making a loud grinding noise when it's started. Doesn't matter the cycle choice; the cycle starts as normal then once started up starts making a sort of grinding noise as the water is pulsing, like something is stuck or blocking the "push" of water. I couldn't see anything stuck in the bottom - any thoughts before I call a repair person? I've never owned a dishwasher before - maybe there's a basic drain/blockage thing I should check out first? And, any recommendations for repair

FDW60 dishwasher Hi My dishwasher is about 15 months old and the problem I have is that it seems to stay on pump and the Ecco45 light is flashing.  A repair company looked at the machine and said that the motor looked like it was leaking and water was getting in the bottom setting off the micro-switch.  He contacted Hotpoint who fitted a new motor today at a cost of £89.85.  Went to use dishwasher tonight and we still have the same problem.  The dishwasher started the washing programme for about

We have a Sears Ultra Wash III dishwasher, model 665.1677993, bought in October, 1995. It is not filling with enough water to get the dishes clean. I took the water valve out and looked at it and it seems okay. It doesn't look like the valve is opening all the way - just my guess. A small stream of water comes out with good pressure, but it is a small stream. I can't find any screens or filters in the water line coming in. The fill cycle lasts only about a minute. Is that adequate? Steve

My portable dishwasher hose that attaches to the faucet is to short for where I want my portable dishwasher to sit. I would like for it to sit in one spot. I am not allowed to alter or cut holes in the side of cabinets, I am renting. Is there an extension for the hose to the faucet? If not, what can I do to make the hose longer? If I really have to I will cut the two hoses that comes from the dishwasher to the faucet, but I would rather have an extension first.

You should be able to find extension or replacement hoses that you can use to extend the existing hoses at a hardware store. If you need to join two hoses that have female connectors, adaptors with two male connections are available. ... Dishwashers
