Miele G 870 SC dishwasher drain was plugged due to blocked sewer line, now won't stop pumping even though all water is been excavated and the drain, trap, and filter have been cleared

Answers :

There is a tray at the very bottom of the Miele. If the machine overflows for any reason, the tray will fill. (Your drain probably backed up into the machine.) This causes a float valve to put it into "pump it out" mode. The machine will be stuck in this mode, because the pump can drain the cabinet, but can't drain the tray at the bottom.
The easy way to cure this, assuming you have fixed the cause of the overflow: power off the machine, turn off the water feed. Remove the front decorative panel and the kick panel. Behind the kick panel, there is a galvanized steel panel held in place with a couple of screws. Removing this will allow some access to the under tray. Vacuum out the water with a wet and dry vacuum, and wait a day or so until the remaining water evaporates. If you're in a hurry, you can deinstall the machine and turn it upside down. The undertray can then be removed, and you can dry everything off with a hair dryer.
Check the water level valve. It sounds like it has stuck. It is in the bottom tray of the washer, sitting by itself. Tapping on it usually frees it up. It may yet stick again, if so, free it up again. Usually once is enough, though. If this doesn't fix your problem, you will need to replace the switch.

Kitchenaid dishwasher - small pieces of food are left on otherwise clean dishes. Water level comes to about 1 inch below heater coil. I ran it without dishes (or soap) and added about a quart of water so that level came to about 1/4 inch below heater and that's when I noticed food pieces on drain surfaces (nylon filter under bottom spray arm unit and circular plastic "trap" surrounding it). Spray arms holes are clear and water is hot.

It sounds as if you figured the solution out. The holes in the spray arm(s) get plugged by small debris, (tooth picks, seeds, bits of plastic like candy wrappers, etc) and the water does not reach the dishes to wash and rinse effective ... Dishwashers

Water problem Hi, I have a Jenn air DW 711 that does not get water. I checked the following: Water line: I unhooked the water line and it is clear & free flowing. Float: The float moves up and down as it should. Filter: The filter inside the tub is clean. The motor runs and will drain any water in the tub I put a bucket of water in the tub and the dishwasher immediately drains no matter which setting I choose. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve
