Will not drain and little thingy popped out - Dishwashers

That lose piece is called the float, it appears the stem broke off inside the float switch.
As it is a kenmore, you can order a replacement float stem from sears and do it yourself if you are handy.

You will have to remove the broken piece out of the float switch housing however. You will want to disconnect the power to your dishwasher first, then remove the front access panel at bottom of washer. The float switch will be directly under where you are pulling the stem under. You will have to try to rig up something to push the broken piece out through the standpipe, like a wire hanger. If you cannot, you can remove the switch fairly easy and get it out that way.

I have not worked on a kenmore, but it should be fairly simple to figure out how to attach the new float stem. Unless there is something mechanically wrong with the float switch itself, this should solve the problem.

Again, if you are working on it yourself you must disconnect the power!!!
That thing that broke is the float. It supposed be attached to an arm that shuts off the water when the tub get full. Did ya just replace the garbage disposal? If so somebody forgot to knock out the plug for the drain hose. oopzy. Food screen clogged? Ya might need to get down in the impeller and see if a bone or piece of glass has gotten into it. have you seen this video?

Bosch dishwasher Over the weekend my drains backed up into the dishwasher. After cleaning the drains I ran the dishwasher 3 times. Under the screen there is still about an inch of water. I never noticed this before because I never removed the screen before. Can you tell me if this is normal or is there a problem with the dishwasher. The water in the little area below the screen is clean.

I have a DU8000XX6 series Kenmore dishwasher that won't drain the water properly. There is about a half inch of water in the tub and the float is raised (not sitting on tub bottom). When I lift up the float a little more I can hear the float switch make. I would assume that when the water is high enough the float switch makes and energizes a solenoid valve in the drain to drain the water, but shouldn't it stay open until all the water drains? Lifting the float while the dishwasher is off wo

Slow drain. My dishwasher is draining, but not enough to empty the water out after a normal cycle. This is also causing the rinse cycle to use recycled dirty water in the process. I've check the lines and there are no blockages there. Inside the dishwasher are 2 little white balls...where is the exact position they should be placed? Could this be blocking some of the draining process?

Hello, My GE dishwasher stopped draining. Model Number: VSD2304JOOWW I emptied out the dishwasher of the liquid, removed the cover and checked the filter. (Didn't look bad.) Checked the drain pipe under the sink and there was a little debris (slime) but very minimal. The garbage disposal was installed at the same time as the dishwasher 3 years ago (brand new place). What else could it be? Any advice would be helpful as my new home seems to be falling apart and it is getting pretty e

There were two little bead like white balls in the drain thing. Are those suppose to be in there? We re-ssembled but the little balls back in (thought maybe they were some kind of float device) Still does not work. Can you help?

Our Hotpoint Dishwasher Model HDA200X-73BA has two little white plastic pipe stubs poking out of the bottom of the dishwasher. During one of the cycles--(I don't think it is the drain cycle)-- some water is being released from one of these pipe stubs and then it stops and the other one runs some water. They each only run for a few seconds, but the water is just running on the floor. These little pipe stubs are about one half inch in diameter and project out of the bottom of the dishwasher about

My Kenmore Elite UtraWash Dishwasher won't drain completely. We have checked the hoses (water supply and drain connected to the disposal) - both are free of obstructions. We have taken the whole thing apart but can't get the plastic cover off to access the motor or "garbage disposal thingy" inside the dishwasher. All of the bolts were taken out, but it was still firmly attached. Didn't want to force it and potentially make the problem worse. Any suggestions before I call Sears Repair people

My dish washer isn't cleaning the dishes well. There are little particals inside of every cup and on dishes after it is done. I just emptied and and now I'm running it with bleach. My Kenmore Elite dishwasher (model 665.17462300) is not spraying the water from the basin in the bottom up through the rest of the dishwasher. The basin fills with water, then just makes a humming noise and appears to splash a little of the water around the very bottom of the dishwasher. When we cancel the cycle, it does drain out the water from the basin. I cleaned all the gunk and debris out of the basin in the bottom, but it didn't make any difference.

I've had my Nautilus for 6 years and it cleans very well - but now, it won't drain fully and pools at the bottom of the unit. I have made sure that my garbage disposal was cleared first, too. and that water was draining properly in the sinks. I will need special tools to unscrew the drain filter in the dishwasher, right, or can I just use a pair of pliers to turn the little knobs? I am always careful to rinse all food off the dishes before putting them in the washer, but I guess I wasn't careful

Dishwasher Leaking Dishwasher leaks from underneath the right front side of appliance. Can't tell exactly where it's leaking from, because of plastic guard/support on underside. All of the connections and hoses are in good shape. I'm assuming that it has something to do with the draining process, as it will leak 2-3 times during a wash cycle. I took the basket and sprayer out, couldn't find any clogs there. It seems to be making a little bit of a different noise but does still clean the dishes. I fixed those and now the dishwasher stays on and begins its cycle (by draining) but the water is not flowing to the machine.
