Having problems with your Pressure Washers ?

Oil leaking from pump

\015 I have a 10 year old Generic pressure washer - 2000 psi. It gets maybe 3-4 hours use each year. On top of the pump is what looks like some sort of brass pressure relief port. This past weekend I noticed a mix of oil and water spraying out from this port. I shutdown the machine immediately and checked the engine oil level (which looked fine). Quite a bit of oil spilled out onto my driveway. I really do not know if this was engine oil or pump oil that was leaking. Can anyone please explain what may have happened and what my options are? Thank you in advance for your assistance. Mark\015

Top is a breather you may be overfull of oil most pumps you can use engine oil .drain and put in half litre or if it has a sight glass top up to low side of glass and try it out.possible your seals on way out this usually then leaks at front or gets water in.if you still have good pressure oil seals easy to do.

The oil in the pump is probably leaking because a seal is blown and water is getting into the piston housing. Take a look inside at the oil. It should be brown and translucent. If it is gray, white or milky, you have a blown oil seal. This reserv ... Northstar Pressure Washers

Had the Northstar 3000 psi Pressure Washer for 2 months and it started leaking oil from the pump during use. Took it to Northern and they are replacing the pump under warranty but said it was likely because I was using quick connects on my garden hose coupling and that was restricting the water flow making the pump overheat. They said never to use quick connects on the garden hose unless the opening is at least 5/8". Does anyone make such a quick connect? I hate having to screw the garden hose o

It is easy to check if your hose and quick connects are supplying enough water to the pump. Your pressure washer gallon per minuite requirements are printed on the machine and also on the pressure tips in GPM. Your post indicates 2.5 gpm but check yo ... Northstar Pressure Washer 3000 PSI

You didn't state your model number so I don't know exactly which type pump you have. With that; there is no 'oil pressure' in power washer pumps. The internal parts work in an oil bath/splash environment and the pump body is vented, usually at the ... Pressure Washers

My Troy Bilt power washer (using Honda GCV160 engine) has no pressure coming from the pump. I checked the water flow, everything seems fine. I believe the pump needs oil added, however, I can't seem to firgure it out (how to add oil to the pump). I did notice that previously, I used to see drops of oil coming from under the pump. I I have a bad seal, can I add oil and test the pressure before I change the seal? Please advise.

I had a similar problem. Turns out I had left the hose disconnected and some sort of wasp built a paper type nest inside the washer tube that the hose connects to. I had to take the pump off and take apart and then cleaned it out with a screw driver. ... Honda Black Max 2600 PSI Pressure Washer

I temporarily misplaced (not lost for good) the owners manual for my honda pressure washer : engine and pump. I do not want to run my machine again until I verify the pump oil content/level. On the pump itself, at the top, there is a black, unscrewable oil cap, with blue-ish oil in it, BUT NO DIP STICK! How do I check the level? What kind of oil, specs etc? Thanks!
