Got stuck in the heat dry cycle and cannot turn off

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description it is likely a faulty control board, unfortunately. Here's what you can do to check...

**Turn off any power to the unit...safety first**

You'll need to access the control, this is best done by way of removing the front panel, i.e.

macmarkus_64.jpg
Once to this point, identify the wires on contact PF2 and inspect the closest relay to it, which will be K1.

If you are capable, measure amperage from PF2 when the unit is idle there shouldn't be power present, you'll require an ammeter.

\015\012I would also check the back of the control ( green part with silver solder ) to inspect the pathways of the heater thermistor circuit. Follow from the thermistor connector at P7 along to the relay...see the image here.

Having said all that, it may be obvious when you visually inspect the control, if it's burnt up or if the relay looks burnt inside ( beyond normal open & closing arcing ).

This is an example of a damaged control but it may not be as extreme with a heater relay defective...

Let me know what you find and I'll try to help you further if necessary. For the control should be available at "repairclinic.com"...but if not let me know I may have one left.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

KUDU03STSS2 The dishwasher won't start and you cannot select a cycle. Hiting cancel twice will turn a small steady light on in the time window were the spining light normally is before a cycle starts, at which time closing the door will drain the dishwasher. I have a Whirlpool DU1048 that started out with a blinking clean light. I reset the dishwasher by pressing the heated dry and normal buttons twice. That worked the clean light stopped blinking. The problem now is the dishwasher seem to be stuck in the wash cycle. I finally have to turn it off after over an hour washing. Is this possibly a heating element problem? is that user replaceable?

Yes I have a whirlpool DU1345XTVB1 dishwasher. Just got in July. After each wash cycle the dishes are not dry. I have been using Finish gelpacs w/jetdry & also have a off brand drying agent in reservior to help dry dishes. The water temperature is set pretty hot & washer is draining good. I have tried checking wash cycle a few minutes into 1st cycle to see if water is in filling & heating. Didn't know if maybe heating element going out or thermostat not working? Thank you for your time.

My Omega Eurolux Dishwasher (mode: DW211P/1) won't stop cycling, It sems to get stuck during the wash cycle and continues for hours, until I turn it off. If I turn the dial to rinse it rinses fine. It doesn't seem to heat the water at all, there is no steam when I open the door. I have put a new heating element in, but this doesn't seem to be heating up at all. When I open the door mid wash cycle the element is cold to touch.

I have a Frigidaire Ultra Quiet II dishwasher that gets stuck in the 6:00 position (between light wash and drying) during the cycle. It also gets stuck right before the drying cycle. It will proceed with the cycle if I manually move the dial. The heated drying feature is also not working as well. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for you time, for it is appreciated. Several people have posted this problem with the Frigidaire Ultra Quiet 111, but I have seen no solutions. When it is set to wash without extra heat, it cycles normally. But when the extra-heat wash and extra-heat rinse are selected, then it gets stuck first mid-wash at the 7 o'clock position, and if it is manually advanced then it gets stuck again during the rinse cycle just before the 9 o'clock drying position. Both the wash and rinse thermostats have been replaced without solving the problem.

I have a GE Profile Dishwasher, Model# PDW7880J03SS that doesnt dry the dishes. I pulled out the dishwasher and checked the heating element for continuity with my ohm meter and got a closed circuit reading. I tested the voltage going to the heating element and got a 124V reading. However the dishes are still soaking wet after the drying cycle. What am i missing, what else could be wrong with the machine that the dishes won't dry at all?

My frigidaire dishwahser was set to run a normal wash cycle and heat dry. It never ran, the soap is still in the holder and the lock beneath the heat dry option is lit. I'm unable to cancel or select any other options. I cannot get the dishwasher to run. Do you have a solution? I have tried holding down a number of the buttons in different combonations but still can't get the light to go out or start a wash cycle.

I took the panel off and clicked the door switch and held it and got all the cycle buttons to light up except rinse only and only heated dry in the cycles would light up. The delay buttons don't work and neither does start. Also the panel seems hot.

I have a Kenmore 665.16039401. The 3 right hand buttons on the keypad; Delay Hours, Cancel/Drain and Start/Resume do not respond and I cannot start the washer. Doing the self-diagnostic test by pressing "Heated Dry - Normal Wash - Heated Dry - Normal Wash" results in all of the LED's lighting and the washer starting a full 20 minute self-test cycle in which all functions seems to work properly. Opening and closing the door during this testing stops and then re-starts the washer appropriately

Dishwasher runs full cycle, however, the dishes and glasses have small particles of food dried on them when done. I do rinse all plates and utensils before turning on. KENMORE MODEL # 363.16222100 Hello - my dishwasher (model# above) is currently filled with H20 and will not drain/work. When the knob to select the dishwasher cycle to begin is turned, it just 'clicks' and does not engage the washing cycle. When I tried to just let it run the cycle as is to 'restart', it had an electrical odor to it., Currently the knob is at the 'Rinse & Hold-(Heated Dry Off)' part of the cycle and all dishes have been removed. I would appreciate any assistance available. Thank

When dishwasher is set to begin, sensor takes very long period of time. Cycles are longer than minutes indicated. Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash. Water then drains as though cycle is complete and moves to next cycle. Then the process continues. When cycle for drying is reached, much heat is given and occasionally it smells as though there is burning. A 82 minute procedure turns into hours.

My dishwasher has power but does not turn on to any cycle when the control knob is in that position. It was adding water and starting to wash, but not going through the whole cycle and not rinsing and drying. Now it has water stuck in it. I hear sounds underneath like it's trying to go to the next cycle (a clicking noise), but then it doesn't. I put a new timer in it, but it was doing the same thing before that.
