I want to remove the white plastic wheel that propels water into the circulating arms. It is held with one screw which I cannot seem to be able to loosen. This white plastic wheel has 2 small holes in the surface which are perhaps there for some special tool to hold the wheel stationary in order to loosen the screw holding this wheel in place. Underneath this gray plastic housing is the heating element. I want to remove it in order to clean accumulated deposits of gunk.

Due to the my Indesit IDL 530 dishwasher not draining properly, I turned it onto it's left side, removed the base plate and pump and checked for blockages in the pump and associated hoses, which were all clear. However in re-assembling it I have forgotten which way round to connect the twin wire plug to the base plate. Hi I've inherited a Zanussi DA6142 Dishwasher from a recent house move. It was treated quite poorly by students who I suspect ran it without the filters in place. I've used a dishwasher cleaner and was able to pull out the lower spray arm and rinse out all the crud that was blocking it (small stones, food, plastic, pieces of glass, paper, etc) but I cannot for the life of me work out how to get the upper spray arm out.
