Having problems with your Bosch 23 in. SHU5302UC Built-in Dishwasher ?

My dishwasher is very loud when filling. It didn't used to be loud at all. But now, it's got this loud humming/water rushing noise when I first turn it on and then it's fairly quiet throughout the cycle. It seems to clean fine, but the noise is annoying especially since my house echoes a lot.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, " My dishwasher is very loud when filling "... the issue is likely with the inlet/water valve.

**To remedy this you will need to replace the valve, not surprising for Bosch unfortunately. First you can check it though if you have an ohm-meter or multi-meter by measuring across the two terminals on the coil. ( removing at least one of the wires first though ) It should simply have continuity, if it reads infinite, you need a new valve.**

This is what to look for..i.e.

As long as your model number is indeed SHU5302 series, this info below will be accurate.

I say not surprising because this part has been an issue for the B/S/H/ built machines in the past and as a result the original part number 189553 now substitutes to 425458. It usually retails for about $20 - $30USD at places such as "searspartsdirect.com" "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

**Before attempting to repair the unit please turn off the power and the water supply to the dishwasher...safety first**

If you remove the lower kick plate/toe panel, you will see the inlet valve to your left...

Replacing it is pretty straight forward. Here`s how...

1) undo the water line.

2) the two #20 torx screws fastening it in place.

3) the feed tube to the machine at the back of the valve and swap it with the new one.

Once the new one is in you should be good to go.

Let me know if you need any further assistance, otherwise good luck.

Hello, I have an LG-2120WHU and it has been making strange loud noises when washing for some time now. Then I tried running some anti-lime through a washing program and gradually, after several washes, it seemed to lessen the noise, but yesterday the dishwasher suddenly made a very loud noise and the I decided to try a special cleaning liquid from Neophos. When I start the dishwasher, it sounds normal. A few minutes after it starts, it makes a loud, thumping noise that lasts for several minutes. After a while, it stops making noise, but about half way through the cycle, it starts making the loud, thumping noise again. It's loud, annoying, and does not get our dishes clean. We have to wash several dishes by hand AFTER we have run the dishwasher.

I have a Bosch SHU43C05UC diswasher. Last night, I put it on before going to bed as usual. I was awakened a couple of hours later to a loud grinding sound (like a pump being run dry), and found the noise coming from the dishwasher. The display read "0" time remaining, so I opened the door and the dishes seemed clean, so I left it shut off. Tonight I have been trying to troubleshoot the problem. The dishwasher will turn on, but it will not seem to fill with water. I have verified that the

When the water should be filling or rinsing the machine is making a horrible, loud, noise and no water is coming out. The solutions I looked at for no water don't mention this noise - they mention a slight hum. This noise is as loud as a TV turned up almost all the way! This happened during a cycle - the wash ran fine and it got to the rinse and started this.
