Burnt wiring on Bosch SHX46A06 Dishwasher

\015 My Bosch dishwasher is about 2 1/2 years old. It has operated with no problems for 2.5 years. I tired to turn run it this week with no success. No lights on the door and no power to unit. I removed the toe panel to gain access to the electrical. I found the wiring had melted along with the wire nut on the black side and some on the white side. The black 12/2 just broke after having melted off from the wire nut. I used the existing awg 12/2 with ground that was attached to previous dishwasher. No additional appliances were added to the existing load. The directions from Bosch had called for 14/2 with ground. Could this be a problem? Could I have made a bad connection for the start? Any thoughts to what might have caused the problem. I have done lots of wiring in my home prior to this.ThanksBill\015

Bill that is exactly what happened, the connection wasn't correct from the start. The Bosch dishwasher pulls 11 amps during the cycle while heating the water to temp. The cooler the water the longer the heat time. Your dishwasher came with a set of wire nuts that where suppose to be used. Be sure when you correct this to use 20 amp wire nuts with the unit. This will stop this from happening again.
The problem with this solution is that a 12/2 is a larger wire than a 14/2 ..the 12/2 wires are just fine you mush have had a loose connection at the wire nuts..

I had a problem with my dishwasher popping the breaker. I opened the bottom and found burnt up wires. I fixed those and now the dishwasher stays on and begins its cycle (by draining) but the water is not flowing to the machine. It has supply, and I just now replaced the water inlet valve- no difference. The water was working before the breaker issue. I'm wondering if it is now something as simple as a clog somewhere since the washer sat unused for a month; or, if it is something more compli

Hello, I had a problem with my Bosch dishwasher not washing properly. I have fixed burnt out wires, replaced the water inlet valve, AND tested with a new control module. Nothing is helping. When I start the cycle, it completes the initial drain and water does flow into the unit for about a minute, maybe a minute and a half. I can hear the clicking of cycle changes but it is not washing. Eventually it will drain the inch or so of water in the bottom, but it never washes. Any help???
