If you are sure that the soft disposal and drain are clear, then check the discharge hose to the sink and be sure it isn't kinked or otherwise obstructed. Also check the drain for the sink and be sure it isnn't partially plugged. If all ok, then look for an issue with the control board or pump.

GE GSD4920Z dishwasher. Problem is that it does not drain completely at the end of the cycle--about an inch of water remains. After checking for clogs, etc, we followed a troubleshooting procedure which involves a hard reset (power off, then reset twice at beginning of cycle) and this procedure successfully drains the tub. However the next time that it's used on a normal cycle, water remains again. Suggestions?

My Brandt VF300 dishwasher is not draining properly. If I empty the residual water (by hand) I can still use it but the water still remains in the bottom at the end of each cycle. How can I fix this?
