Having problems with your Campbell Hausfeld Pressure Washers ?

Campbell Hausfield Pressure washer model 1549. After a few years of storage, I cannot prevent the powerful spray leaking from the connection between the Gun and the Lance. I replaced the O-Ring, and tried other means unsuccessfully. Spray from the joint is almost as powerful as spray from the lance nozzle. The Briggs and Stratton engine has been cleaned and operates well. The pump operates well. But the lance connection refuses to seal.

Hello,

Most likely, the housing has split and seal is not being made. There is a chance that the hose is leaking where the fitting is crimped on (my experience, but different pressure washer). Are you able to see a leak when turned off but garden hose is connected and turned on?

Is it possible that water was still in the hose / gun and froze while it was in storage?
Hello. Your best bet is probably to replace the gun and lance. It sounds as if it is worn to the point that the O-ring just doesn't seal it off any longer. The only other thing you could try is this: go to a hardware store and get a tube of steel weld. This will stick to those parts and create a permanent weld which will stop the leak. The only drawback would be getting those pieces apart again. J.

I have a Briggs & Stratton gas power washer. This is the 1st time this year that I have used it. I put in fresh gas, hooked up the water supply. The engine started and then quickly stopped. I had to release the water pressure in the hose before I could pull start the engine. The only way to keep the engine running is to hold down the spray nozzle trigger. Once that is released the pressure in the hose builds up and the engine stops.

I have a washer model 1805 (1800 PSI). Everything works but there is always leaking of water (sprays) when I use it. The leak is not from where the water hose connects to the washer, but where the black piece attached to the hose is connected to the body of the washer. I can still do a decent job of power washing, but am wondering if the leaking of water is reducing the power of the washer.

Yes, leaking water will reduce the pressure. Sounds like you need to replace the O-Ring inside the connections on the pump. This is where the pressure hose connects to the pump. If you look carefully inside that connection you will see an O-Ring. Use ... Campbell Hausfeld PW1805 1800 PSI 15 GPM Pressure Washer
