Having problems with your Danby DDW497W 22 in. Countertop Dishwasher ?

E4 error light comes on, dishwasher won't run, this apparently means water is on a sensor, have removed water from collection tray in bottom, tilted machine backward to dry out sensor, left for 24 hours, machine still won't run. Currently a very small new counter top but a useless dishwasher.

The problem is related to the floater assembly inside the dishwasher. It is filling up with gunk and stop working properly. I found out the hard way after a good spill. The solution is easy but takes a bit of time.
1. Unplug the power and water hoses.Unscrew the main cover ( both sides , pry off plastic caps first) back, and open door to remove the screws form the left and top attached to the main cover.
2. Remove the cover completely by lifting and slightly bending the bottom to unlatch.
3. On the right side, you can see the floater assembly. Remove the single screw on the lever and turn the lever 90 degrees to remove from the piston. Pry out the reservoir cover by pressing on the two latches(one is glued on, remove the glue).
4. You will see a very dirty mechanism which have to be cleaned up totally with sponges and paper towels. If possible ,you can try to insert a flexible wire inside the rubber hose at the bottom to ensure nothing is blocking it.
5. Replace the reservoir cover with its piston and re-install the lever.
6. At this stage, before installing the big cover, you can connect the hoses and power cord and try with setting P5 to start a small run. You should see the lever rising during water filling, when the spinner start turning, water filling stops for a moment then starts again for a brief period. This is a good check of the health of the float assembly when you run your washer. There should be a brief period of stop and start of water fill like you had when your machine was brand new.
7. Re-install the cover. ( the darker colored screws go in the front (behind door). Put back plastic caps . Reconnect power and water hoses.
8. Repeat from time to time when you don't hear the start and stop water fill.
I got the same error and took all the water out of the heating element collecting tray, cleaned all food particles and mildew (yuck) from the sensor and all the cavities in the tray. The machine is back up and running.

When the E4 error came on, the machine got overfilled and spilled water all over the counter. Had to bail all the water out manually and then clean.

These machines definitely require some hands on maintenance and repair once in a while. It's my second one and having to reseal the look through window with aquarium glue after a few months is a routine.

I have just moved into a new house with an Asko Dishwasher. It is not working. I program it, the icon for the cycle I have chosen lights up in red, I press start, that lights up in red, the water runs in for about 30 seconds and then nothing more happens. This happens on every wash cycle that I attempt to use. It does not appear to be on time delay as that icon does not light up. Hobart LX30 Hey I just bought a Hobart Lx30 and we don't have a power source that can handle the 50 amp requirement. We got it at an extremely good price so we are trying to work around it. I was told that disconnecting the water heater would allow it to work in a standard 120 volt outlet. I did that and now I have another issue. The machine wont run unless the water is 160 degrees. How do i disconnect the sensor that restricts the temp so that I can run the machine at a lower temp?

Hopefully you took the suggestion to run the correct 50 amp 208-240 service to the unit.Converting the unit to an LX30C has a couple of pitfalls. The LX30C is connected directly to the incoming water supply, which should run 120-140 degre ... Hobart 24 in. LXIH-3 Built-in Dishwasher

I have a BOSCH 8280 dishwasher which at the end of its cycle still has soapy water in the bottom of the machine. The dishes, and especially the cutlery, are left smeared and looking unfinished. I lifted out and cleaned the filter in the floor of the machine but the water still doesn't drain away. Are there any other filters etc which may be causing the problem? Any ideas. Thanks.

Bosch Dishwasher I currently own a Bosch dishwasher. One of the selling points, if I'm remembering right, of the dishwasher was it was supposed to super heat the hot water that is coming in from the tap. I have 3 problems. We have to rinse the dishes by hand before putting them in the dishwasher, Otherwise they won't come out clean. The dishwasher will run for four hours sometimes longer. It doesn't seem like it is heating the water any hotter than what comes out of the tap.

Dishwasher wont fill with water. just before it stopped filling i was turning the dial (a lot) between the wash cycles back and forth to attempt to get it to fill and drain (I didn't let it go through a cycle). We also removed the hose from the machine as it had split and replaced it and we had the machine tilted on it's side. the dial still clicks round but it sounds like the pump is going and it doesn't seem to be filling with water.
