Having problems with your Fisher and Paykel Dishwashers ?

I have a fisher & Pakel dishwasher and it appears to have brown a fuse inside the machine which means it does not work at all and the problem occurred during the wash cycle. When the seal is in the lowered position it creates a complete seal but it also locks the drawer (single drawer dishwasher) so it cannot be pulled out. I repaired the dishwasher two years ago. Answers :

According to the service manual there is no problem in manually forcing open the drawer in the situation where the power has failed part way through the diswasher cycle.
\015\012
\015\012The problem is that once you force the lid open, you cannot push drawer back in without taking the drawer fully out and rewinding the lid motor manually to open.
\015\012
\015\012Hope this helps with diagnosing further the problem with your dishwasher. The water might still be in the drawer. It is very likely that the thermal cut off has blown open. The only way to replace this is the full heater assembly
\015\012Be careful the full mains voltage must be getting up to the controller. So leave the mains connection off when repairing.
At user level no. not until the unit is powered so that you have access to the drawer.

I was told by a repairman that the seals around the motor swelled because I had gone on vacation for two weeks and not used the dishwasher. He charged $85 to turn the motor manually and restart the dishwasher. The dishwasher is 5 years old. Does this mean I can never leave for two weeks at a time and come home to a working dishwasher?

No. The unit most likely had some debris stuck in the macerator. The seals are water lubricated and its possible that some detergent dried between the seals. Detergent is a lot like glue when it dries. You are probably using the factory recommend ... GE Dishwashers

I have the two drawer model dish-drawer system. In the past the top seal leaked and since has been replaced with a new seal. Worked well for several years after but then the top drawer quit running. So we started to use the bottom drawer. That was fine for awhile althought it would pump waste water into the top drawer. Now neither drawer will work. The bottom drawer starts up and shuts down. I pulled the lower drawer and it is dry.

Dishwasher leaking my GE Natulus dishwasher is leaking from the bottom seal, Is the two pieces that are at the very bottom that hold the motor where the seal is? I'm not seeing a seal. I'm not sure if that is where it is leaking. I've got the thing torn apart so it is difficult for me to say where it is leaking. I'm going to give it a whirl. Don't know if the repair is worth the trouble. The GE dishwasher is only 7 years old. What is the avg life of a dishwasher. I'm sure it's not top of the lin

I have the two drawer dishwasher. It's about 10 years old. The top drawer continues to work OK but for the last three attempts when I run the bottom drawer water gets out into the drip pan below and gives the F1 signal. I can dry the drip pan out and clear the F1 signal so the top drawer works. But running the bottom drawer causes water to leak again with the resultant F1 signal. There is very little water in the bottom drawer (just a little in the filter bowl) so I think the pump is pumping

We have a Fisher & Paykel two drawer dishwasher, model DD603. I have a frigidaire dishwasher - model number PLDB998AC1. There are two spray arms in this dishwasher - lower and upper. The lower works fine but the upper spray arms are not spinning. There is what I think adequate water pressure coming in from the top but no movement on the upper spray arm. GE Potscrubber 650 Dishwasher, 13 years old. We want to take the front lower panel off to move the motor fan by hand, as you described for glideston'es post, but we can't figure out how to get the panel off. A repairman told us to remove the three screws at the top of the lower panel -- but they are too close to the upper door panel. The space between the two panels is not big enough to fit a screwdriver or any other tool we can think of. How do we remove the lower panel?

The top drawer of my fisher paykel dishwasher stops during the cycle and shows an icon of a tap with a line threw it (assume that means no or low water pressure). the bottom works fine so I assume water pressure is not the issue; is there a sensor that could be bad? Also, I did switch the controllers between drawers (good instructions on the fisherpaykelparts.net website) but the problem stayed with the drawer, ruling out the controller.
