Having problems with your Fisher DS603W / DS603B / DS603I Dishwasher ?

Dishwasher wont fill with water. just before it stopped filling i was turning the dial (a lot) between the wash cycles back and forth to attempt to get it to fill and drain (I didn't let it go through a cycle). We also removed the hose from the machine as it had split and replaced it and we had the machine tilted on it's side. the dial still clicks round but it sounds like the pump is going and it doesn't seem to be filling with water. Hi. I suspect that the timer mechanism will be the culprit here, but i recommended to inspect and test the water inlet valve, before replacing the timer. The valve is a known problem area, as well. Follow the valve inspection procedure below, carefully. Simply replace the timer dial control module if the valve proves to be functioning, correctly.

To access the inlet valve remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel. The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it. One hose will lead from the valve to the pump/motor assembly in the center of the dishwasher. Check that the hoses are securely connected to the valve and that there are no kinks in the hoses which could restrict water flow. There are two wires (four, if it has two solenoids) connected to the water inlet valve. Label the wires and connections so that you can properly reconnect them later. The wires are connected with slip on connectors. Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire itself). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced. Use a continuity tester or multimeter to test for continuity. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. Touch one probe to each terminal. A reading of infinity indicates a bad solenoid that must be replaced. Different brands and models will have various measurements, but the valve should show some resistance if it is functioning properly. If your valve has two solenoids, test the second one in the same way as the first. If the solenoid is working properly, kindly replace the timer control module.
\015\012Ok so your dishwasher won't do anything... it justs sits there and "Hums" you can't make it respond to any controls, and the ONLY way to Stop it. is to unplug the unit, replugging back in it simply "Hums" again and will do nothing.
Now this happens because, the STOP Button, is pressed and the "Door Opened", during the Wash Cycle. This should NOT be done. You shouldNEVER TURN IT OFF MID-CYCLE. you should instead, Simply, pull on the handle, to Open the door, the system will take care of everything, after, you close it,and pick up where it left off. The turning OFF, makes the machine "Think" that a New Cycle, is going to be done, before the old one is finished, and resets itself to do it all again. But it still has water, that's not meant to be there so it must dump it out.
Now, the FIX. Take the Dishwasher, out, and tip over on it's side, tip to about a 45' angle. Water will come out from underneath, this is from a small "Overflow" reservoir. this reservoir has an "Anti-Flood" switch. The removing of this water will "Reset" this Switch, and allow the dishwasher to work again.
So what happens, is this, when the STOP button is pressed Mid-Cycle, the machine must "Dump" whatever water is still in the machine, into the "Overflow Reservoir". This water then causes the Anti-flood switch to jam, and this stops the machine, until it is reset,by the above method.

The machine does not seem to rinse properly. We have checked the water fill level, water temperature, spray arms are not clogged, have determined it is not a hard water problem and have tried Glass Magic and CLR to verify the lattter. What else can we check to stop getting a film on everything in the machine? Plastics come out terrible, glasses and dishes foggy and sometimes still greasy. Normal wash cycle- tub fills (?), then comes a loud hummmm and nothing happens. I noticed water level didn't reach heater coil and added water until limiter switch clicked. Still just a loud hummmm. Machine was well into its regular cycle when this first occurred, but now, won't even get past initial fill. Pushing the "Cancel/drain" button activates motor and pump: they work fine.
