Having problems with your Frigidaire 24 in. FDB421RF Built-in Dishwasher ?

Dishwasher Repair I have a Frigidaire dishwasher that came with the house. The house and washer are probably about seven years old. It woked fine for the first few months but now, when I turn it on to wash it fills with water but then it will not go into wash cycle (i.e. there is no water sent into the dish compartment). It will go through every cycle by filling and emptying through wash and rinse but no water goes into the dish compartment. Is there a pump that is perhaps not working? How is th

Answers :

Ebers, you have a seperate wash and drain motor on this model. When you remove the bottom panel the drain pump will be on the right and the circulation (wash) pump will be in the rear. You are going to have to verify that you have power getting to the wash motor. Sometimes this is difficult without removing the dishwasher. The motor may have a quick connect harness going to it that you can check voltage there. If you have voltage to the motor during the wash cycle and it's not running, well, there's the problem. If no voltage, then it's probably a timer issue. Catriver..post back

I rinsed my dishes first, then i put in a tablet to wash the dishes ad never thought any more about it untill the following morning i went to empty the dishes and discovered that the dishes had not been washed and the tablet was still in its compartment, i also noticed that there is dirty water in the bottom of the dishwasher, on the panal there are two lights CHECK WATER, AND THE ACTIVE LIGHT is on, i would be very grateful if you tell me what is the problen. thank you ANNETTE BECK

Sounds like the drain is clogged, so the dirty water is not draining and the dishwasher won't cycle because if it did it would overflow (causing a mess). So I would suggest trying to remove the obstruction (could be food or a utensil, etc.... at the ... Dishwashers

My Kenmore Elite dishwasher doesn't wash dishes properly. I think that it is not getting enough water in the machine. It only allows about an inch of water to get into machine and then starts. I do not think that there is enough water to spin wash arms. I have 40 PSI coming into the house. I am on well water and found debris in the intake orfice. I did my best to flush. Could it still be bad?

Dishwasher fills tub continuously until float turns it off whether in cyle, during drying or after cyle complete. That means during drying when the dishwasher is trying to dry the dishes the tub fills up preventing drying. This is a new dishwasher that I've never used. I allways noticed the tub was full of water, but thought that was just to keep the seals moist so they don't rot. I've been in my house 5 years and only hand washed my dishes because it was more convienient. Now that there ar

Frigidaire built in dishwasher model PLD2855RFC1. Have to wash dishes pretty much spotless prior to using dishwaser. Glasses come out with what appears to be soap residue regardless if powder or liquid. Did not use a gauge but water pressure in rest of house is good, recently replaced water heater, pressure regulator and just replaced the dish washer water source valve. Washer is about 18 months old, has never worked really well.

Dirty dishes The dishwasher in the house I moved into is a very basic model of approximately 1-2 yrs. old. In every load that I wash there are some dishes that are not cleaned properly. I do not have access to a users manual and was wondering if I need to set the water temperature? Can anyone help?

You need to take the spray arm off of the bottom and get down to the filter: there's probably food trapped in the filter somewhere, not able to drain out and it keeps recycling onto the dishes at each cycle. Good luck! ... Sears 24 in. 14181 Built-in Dishwasher

Sometimes I can run the dishwasher with no problems. I have a Bosch DLX Series (SMU4092UC/14) dishwasher that I can't use because the detergent dispenser doesn't open automatically during the wash cycle so the dishes only get sprayed with hot water but no detergent. Is there a fix for this? Or is it time to get a new dishwasher? I know this one is old since I've lived in my house over ten years and it was there when I moved in.

Hi, I have an LG LDS4821 dishwasher and it appears to stop working properly. The dishes don't seem to be cleaned at all. It seems like the spray arms are not spraying the dishes as the dishes are still dry/dirty after a normal wash cycle. I did notice that the detergent was used during the wash, and a trail of white residue was at the bottom of the tub. I can hear water pumping into the dishwasher, but when I opened it during a wash cycle, there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the

Dishwasher problem It is a "classique" dishwasher , about 8 years old, but used only about 50 times max. The dishes are not getting out clean - the washing powder is smeared over them. Most of the dish washing powder (or tablet, tried it both) is not comming out of the powder compartment, despite the fact that we find the compartment open when the washing cycle is done. Sure it is just a "smal quick fix thing" but have not idea what it could be. Pleaseee help!

Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. Only about 1/2 the amount of water is let in when the pump turns on and the washing cycle begins. Opening the door shows that the water level does not reach the bottom of the float. When my dishwasher completes its cycle, there is powdered detergent left in the dispenser and the dishes aren't as clean as they use to be. This started happening after I ran a HI TEMP WASH with a SANI RINSE cycle. I'm thinking that either the detergent dispenser door is opening late or the water is not getting hot enough. To check the dispenser door, I left the door open and just poured powder into the dispenser compartment. This did not improve the cleaning.

My Kenmore Elite dishwasher did not drain the water out of the bottom after the dishes were washed last night. Could I possibly have pushed a wrong button to keep it from draining, or do I have a problem? All the dishes were clean. Should I run it through another wash cycle? I've got water standing in the bottom of my dishwasher.

I had a service tech at my house to repair my refrigerator. He also took a look at my Maytag WU504 dishwaser, which was not cleaning the dishes anymore. He was less familiar with dishwasher diagnosis, but found that the lower spray arm was pumping out water through the jets properly in the cycles, but that the spray arm was not rotating. He seemed stumped and called his supervisor, who suggested it might be the wash impeller. I have looked at the parts diagram on partselectdotcom and taken t
