Dish washer does not drain after the cycle is complete. The last few months when the dishwasher is done their would be a small amount of water left in the bottom. It didnt create any problems but would smell after a few days. So we would just run the drain cycle and it would empty. Well i got home to and the wife said the it was really full. The water was dirty and when you run the drain cycle it didnt drain. She said the dishes were clean. So i cleaned the vent, and filled the sink with

My trusty Bosch s510 Dishwasher which has been going strong for about 17 years (at least) has just decided not to empty itself. I noticed the bottom was full of water after a wash. I emptied all the water out by hand and presuming there is a blockage in the drain tried using a plunger to unblock it. I have since put it through another cycle and half way through water started leaking out of the front. At the end of the cycle the bottom of the dishwasher was again full of hot 'soapy' water. Run on the normal cycle the dishes come out smelling "fishy". I refill the jet dry every 2 weeks--it always seems empty and I know that's not normal for dishwasher use. Even the empty dishwasher has a "smell". Our water is excellent for drinking--it is not well water and has no odor. Please advise before I have to buy a new dishwasher. Our dishwasher is a Quiet Partner II.

Dishwasher: Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner. Has worked fine until had a house plumbing blockage which made water pool in the bottom of the dishwasher as well as kitchen sink. Tried to get it to drain at first using keypad. Drain light clicked on and then off because there was nowhere for water to do. Manually emptied most of the water, then "Cancel/Drain" worked if I held it down quite a while. House plumbing is now fixed. However the keypad only works sporadically now. Some buttons do so

Frigidaire Dishwasher FDB740RC. Not cleaning dishes well. Just in the past couple weeks. When the dishwasher fills with water, how full should it get. When mine fills, it definitely doesn't go up to the element, and just barely makes it to the float switch (not enough to trigger it), makes it to just below the base of it, doesn't come up the side of it at all. Is this normal, or should there be more water. The Water valve has been replaced already.

Lately the soap remains in the dispenser, dried and caked in (I have to dig it out with a sharp object, as it becomes a solid piece). I have also tried gel soaps, but find them in the bottom of the dishwasher, partially intact. The mistery is this does not happen all the time, but most of the time! I've checked the water pressure and the water temperature: both seem to be fine. The dishwasher does run a full cycle. Is it time to buy a new one? It worked well for approx another 6-9 months without any leaks and now the same problem is back. The dishwasher isn't overloaded. I have a Bosch Dishwasher- I installed a new garbage disposal and forgot to knock out the drain plug (dumb-i know) and I ran the dishwasher that night- well in the morning I noticed it was full of water and the bottom and the drain was humming. I then realized what I had done- so I knocked out the plug and the dishwasher drained immediately. but now the drain continues to run - even with the door open and I cannot get it off the drain cycle. Any suggestions?

This problem is intermitten. Kenmore 665 16765690. starting the dishwasher, I hear a motor running. I think it is trying to empty water, however there isn't any water. I will turn the time rotor around to the start again. Sometimes, when I do this the motor running sound has stopped and I hear gurgling sound of water entering. Once this happens, the cycle is good and does well. However, there are times, rotation the timer back to the beginning may take several times, up to about 20 times.
