Having problems with your Frigidaire 24 in. PLD2560LCC Energy Star® Built-in Dishwasher ?

Frigidaire dishwasher Rylee, the circuit breaker is fine. There is no fuse on the dishwasher according to the owners manual, the parts manual and the wiring diagram. There is no timer selector switch on this model. While I changed the control circuit board, the only other thing I can think it would be is the control panel with the buttons on it. What do you think

Hi Todd,

As a rule:
\015\012
    \015\012
  • Black Smoke = Unburnt Fuel, incomplete combustion, bad mix
  • \015\012
  • Blue Smoke = Burning Oil
  • \015\012
  • White Smoke = Water Vapor, Water getting where it shouldn't be.
White\015\012smoke is common in cold weather when you first start your vehicle. It's\015\012from condensation. But it should stop as the engine warms up. If it\015\012doesn't, the moisture is from another source.

A blown head gasket fits the bill. Things to look for:
\015\012
    \015\012
  • Coolant levels low. As the coolant is burned off, you'll notice the levels are lower
  • \015\012
  • Oil in the coolant. If oil is present in the radiator,\015\012it's coming from the engine. Another indicator of a failed head gasket.\015\012Only a confirmation though, lack of oil does not rule out the\015\012possibility.
  • \015\012
  • Water in the oil. You recently changed the oil. It\015\012should be clear and clean. Pull the oil dipstick. Is the oil still\015\012clear and clean? Or is it milky and frothy? If so coolant is getting\015\012into the oil. Again, an indicator, not a confirmation of a blown head\015\012gasket. Lack of blue smoke says that oil contamination is unlikely. On\015\012the other hand, the oil volume has to be coming from somewhere.
The\015\012quickest, easiest and (most importantly) cheapest confirmation of this\015\012is to run a compression test on each cylinder.

The test should show high and\015\012fairly close compression (100psi or more) on all cylinders. If any of\015\012them are significantly lower, something is allowing the gasses to\015\012escape. Since valve problems are usually accompanied by horrendous\015\012noises and piston ring failures would produce blue smoke, that leaves\015\012the head gasket.

If you feel comfortable doing it yourself,\015\012testers are available at any auto parts store for under $30.00. If you\015\012don't, any shop can do it in under half an hour.

All this is to pin point the problem. Then you know what you are dealing with.

Comment me back with your findings.

Hi!
\015\012
\015\012The timer switch i was talking about was the selector switch/cycle selector switch. And in your case the timer is embedded in the control panel, so you need to get it replaced.
\015\012
\015\012If you have found this information to be valid and useful, a "FixYa" ratings would be appreciated. That is the only reward I get for the help I offer here.
\015\012
Thanks

It does drain when while filling, and if the flood detection rod is raised manually (also drains if the inlet pipe beyond the pressure sensor is blocked - found

Maytag MDBTT79AWW dishwasher fills and nothing else. Once filled you hear a click, followed by a humming sound for 3-5 seconds, then silence. This will happen two or three more times, and then unit will shut off. Motor doesn't start. Repairman says he thinks control board is bad, but he sounds like he is guessing. I performed a field service test , which indicated a fault in the high current motor circuit. Unit is seven years old. Don't know whether to attempt repair, or replace.

That sounds like the motor trying to start but being jammed it is shutting off via an internal breaker. Check for something in the bootom of dishwasher that might have gotten down there that could do this. You might have to take the sprayer off and s ... Dishwashers

Customer bought house with a Viking Dishwasher already there. He has no user manuals or documentation with the model number listed. None of the stickers on the side of the door have a Viking model number. This unit is a Quiet Clean System with Auto Water Heating and is (he thinks) about two years old. How can I find out what the model # might be or better yet how do I find out the part # to fix the main control board / interface. It just keeps blinking.

Check the back of the unit for a tag.... otherwise - removing the clock... it should have a part number on it.\015\012\015\012Thanks! ... Dishwashers

My Kenmore ULTRA WASH dishwasher model #1603* does not respond to any command. When I select a desired washing I only get a blinking light on my selection and nothing else. If I select ''Cancel/Drain'' it blinks as well. I receive no response at all if I select ''Start/Resume''. To stop the blinking I must turn off the circuit breaker. When I restore the power, the control board is not lit, however, selecting any of the wash cycles and the blinking starts once again. The manual refers to a blink

The unit kept the lights on after the cleaning cycle was done and I couldn't shut them off. I reset the electrical breaker and now nothing works, but the board has power. Bci450 My dishwasher has been always giving me lots of trouble. It is the BCI450 model from hotpoint. Whenever it reaches the washing stage for steam, it seems to beep alot. Many times they replaced the Circuit board but this problem comes back after 2 months. What could be the reason this is caused? Today they replaced the rubber thinking that water vapour might be reaching the circuit. I got this repaired about 7 times already and each time they replaced the circuit board.

I have an Asko 1585 dishwasher. It drops the inlet valve on step (step 12), and the recirculation pump (next step) tries to pump with no water. Later at about step 47, the inlet valve begins to work again and the dishwasher finishes the cycle without a problem. I have had the board checked, and all of the power supply and transfer circuits are good. That leaves the processor.
