Will not drain-hose is not clogged - Frigidaire Dishwashers

Answers :

On the newer machines the drain pump is a smaller more energy efficent seperate pump and motor. Check that it is running and also take it apart to assure it is not clogged up or stuck by a debris(glass, toothpick, small bones). If this is a new install to a new garbage disposer check that the plug was removed from the disposer. If this dosen't help please send the model number so I can find more model specific information. To access the pumps it will be necessary to remove the kick plate at the bottom of the unit. Turn the machine on and watch the operation. The DW will fill with water(if not full already)the machine will wash for 10-15min then the drain solinoid will snapopen and the main pump will drain or the main pump will shut off and the drain pump will start. The drain pump is a very small motor and it will not take much to stop the impeller from moving. You could disconnect the drain line from the drain or disposer and put it in a 5 gallon bucket for testing as well. If the drain ine is smashed it may not drain. Check these things, I hope this helps, please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks, SP

My WHirlpool dishwasher won't drain - basin is full of water. Machine starts and runs the drain cycle, but something is clogged. I opened up the bottom, and pulled off the drain hose to the disposal, and that had no water in it, so the clog is somewhere before the water gets to the hose. If I run the dishwasher drain cycle, it is not pumping water into the hose. What next?

The clog could be in the hose,or on up in the mouth of the drain, air pressure might dislodge the clog,or dissasible of the drain pan in the machine. ... Dishwashers

Kitchen Aid Dishwasher KUDR24SEBLO does not drain 100%. I have removed the drain hose and chcked the sink P-Trap, [it drains thru the garbage disposer]. Unit is 10 years old, otherwise works fine. I am having difficulty removing the impeller and items above the pump to see if it is clogged. Bosch SHU992SUC Dishwasher does not drain. It's not clogged in the external hose, the filters are not dirty. I moved the Dishwasher outside and ran it with the input attached to the garden hose and the output drain hose laying on the ground so there is absolutely no chance of restriction due to the way it's plumbed in. This model does not even show up on Bosch web site. I guess I have to start taking apart the machine blind with no service manual. Ideas? It's less than 10 years old I think. M

Frigidaire 2405 Dishwasher has a direct drain into the floor and is too far from the sink to be able to drain into the sink pipes. Can I add a loop of drain hose from the floor drain up to the counter height, about 30", then back to the floor to mimic the loop that would be created by running to the sink drain? I have been told that these new types of dishwashers require water remaining in the pipes to work properly. Thanks, John

I have a Bosch dishwasher that was working just fine until I spilled a bag of uncooked pasta. I sent the pasta down the drain and ran the garbage disposal, subsequently clogging the pipes. I had to get a plumber to fix the drains, but he wouldn't unclog the dishwasher. I have tried myself to go under the sink and drain some hoses, but it didn't work. I also put some baking soda and vinegar into the drain, but no luck. What can I do?

It may simply be where the dishwasher drain attaches to your garbage disposal. There should be a hose clamp and can easily be taken off. Hi! We just installed our LG LDF8812WW built in dishwasher. We ran our first cycle and after the wash cycle the dishwasher displayed error code OE. I read that it meant there is a problem with the drainage, and to check the hose if it is kinked. Well, the hose is not kinked and we have no idea why it would have a problem with the draining. We have the hose set up per the installation instructions. How can we check to for something clogged? Any suggestions?

I took the basket and sprayer out, couldn't find any clogs there. It seems to be making a little bit of a different noise but does still clean the dishes.
