I need to winterize the built-in Kenmore dishwasher in a mountain cabin where winter temperatures will drop below freezing. The unit is at least 10-15 years old, but I don't have the model number handy. My approach to the cabin water pipes in general will be to gravity-drain them and then blow out remaining water by adding and releasing air pressure. RV antifreeze will go into all P-traps. When it comes to the dishwasher, my plan is to remove the drain hose from the P-trap and drain it as mu

In order to get the water out the best thing to use is a wet dry shop vac and attch it to the end of the drain hose on either your dishwasher or clothes washer this will remove any water in the drain pumps. As far as RV anti freeze being added not sur ... Kenmore Dishwashers

A GE triton dishwasher causes hammer noise when stops filling. The sink faucet works fine as do all the other faucets in the house. I cleaned all of the traps in the dishwasher. Because the sink works, I don't think it is a sink valve problem. I turned off the water to the house and drained the system, the air chambers should be good. Is there some component of the dishwasher that could be causing the noise? Would cleaning the pump help? If so, how would I do that?

The cause of the hammering noise, (slamming) is due to the water inlet valve on the Dishwasher (DW) shutting off abrutly once the DW reaches the proper amount of water.\015\012\015\012If this is an older DW, you might want to replace the ... GE Dishwashers

When dishwasher drains the water not all the water is drained. Some stays standing at the bottom and starts getting an odor after awhile. This is a replacement dishwasher in a 35 year old house. How important is the air release part in the draining situation? I was told by someone that the newer dishwashers have the air release part which was not hooked up on this dishwasher when installed last year. Are there some other possibilities of things that can be checked. Model Number is DU

There is gum stuck somewhere in my dishwasher drain line. The water won't go down. I took the inside apart and can see the hole where the drain water goes. I disconnected the drain hose under the sink. I got the water to drain out when there was alot in there, but now it won't drain again. I blew compressed air from a compressor backwards through the hose and it makes a big splash and bubbles inside the dishwasher, but the water still won't go down. I put Boiling hot water and vinager in there t

GE Dishwasher model PDW8200J03BB stopped draining. Removed the drain pump, checked with Voltmeter and there is resistance on ohms X10 of about 3. The flap is in place so water isn't shooting back into the sump inlet. Replaced the sump inlet about 6 months ago because it was deteriorated due to hard water. Pump worked fine after that. Checked drain hoses and air gap. Was able to blow water through. Pump only trickles water out at air gap. Does the pump need replaced?

I have a whirlpool gold model GU1500 diswasher. When the rinse cycle ends the water pumps out into the garbage disposal like it should, but then water backs-up from somewhere into the bottom of the dishwasher. The overfill protection drain seems OK...the water doesn't overflow. It doesn't have a air gap on the sink. The drain hose goes directly from the dishwasher to the inlet on the garbage disposal. It appears to be properly installed per the installation instructions. The washer is about 4 ye

I have a Whirlpool DU810SWLQ0 that will not drain. I've pulled the unit out, snaked the drain tube, pulled the motor/pump, and pipe assemblies, and cleaned the food trap, which I also removed. I've run the dishwasher with a bit of bleach, and the water will pump in, get processed by the agitator, and be heated. When the rinse cycle comes, dishes get covered in food, and are never clean. Waste water was being used for a clean rinse. I've run the dishwasher with the drain dangling in a bucket,

Dishwasher drain is hooked to a food disposer and until recently the unit worked fine. Last week following a cycle a couple of inches of water did not drain out. All food is removed from dishes, silverware, etc. prior to loading and the food trap in the bottom is completely clear. Disposal plugged up and water backed up into dishwasher. Cleared disposal and dishwasher drain line. Checked around sump but dishwasher won't pump out. Sounds like pump is trying to run. I can blow air through the drain hose from the disposal and get bubbles in the water. Turned off breaker for 1 min. then tried reset. Can hear pump humming.

The pump is humming because its still trying to get all the water out of the unit. Deinstall the dishwasher and pull the entire dishwasher out from under your cabinet. Next step would be to disconnect the drain line from the drain pump and check to ... Dishwashers

I own a build-in LG Stainless Dishwasher (modle: LDF1178ST). It stopped draining water during its recent startup due to its idle (no operation) for about a year:). I can only feel the hose full of water by touching the drain hose between the washer and the sink desposal. It's hard to check other part of dish washer since it's built in our cabinet. Could any dishwasher expert help to advise how to trouble shoot or fix this problem. Thanks, Alex Chen 571-220-7484

Water problem Hi, I have a Jenn air DW 711 that does not get water. I checked the following: Water line: I unhooked the water line and it is clear & free flowing. Float: The float moves up and down as it should. Filter: The filter inside the tub is clean. The motor runs and will drain any water in the tub I put a bucket of water in the tub and the dishwasher immediately drains no matter which setting I choose. Any ideas? Thanks, Steve

My dishwasher will not drain after cycling. I have check the drain hose connected to the disposal. All is in good order the hose is not cinked and the air hole is unblocked. I have also checked the screen at the bottom of the dishwasher, there is no debris or blockage here either. I can run the dishwasher on normal, it cycles but I still have stagnat water left beneath the bottom rack. How do I check my pump to see if it is working or could it be a short of some kind? The problem is a solenoid under the unit. It is a small black cylinder that operates a valve to change from the wash cycle to the drain cycle. You can probably order a new one from Kenmore for pretty cheap. ... Kenmore 24 in. 15252 / 15254 / 15259 Built-in Dishwasher
