Having problems with your GE 24 in. Profile PDW7800 Built-in Dishwasher ?

2 weeks ago, I had a plumber come and put in a new garbage diposer and since then somewhat old/dirty water seems to be sitting at the bottom after all cycles are done. I calle dhim back and he says that there is no problem in the plumbing but more with the pump. I even use the wt/dry vac and removed water and ran it but still comes back with water at the bottom. also the dishes smell like soap. Help!!!

Answers :

The plumber did not make an air gap in the dishwasher drain hose when he reattached it to the new disposal. Look under your sink, does the hose (attached to the disposal) go down and through the cabinet? If so, that is definitely the issue. Simple fix: there should be enough slack on the hose to make an arch in it. The hose should come out of the disposal and go up as far as possibly under your sink, then come back down to head to the dishwasher. Clip the hose to the back of your cabinet at its highest point and you should be all set.
There is a breakaway stub in the garbage disposal's dishwasher hose port, it needs to be removed before connecting the dishwasher drain hose when installing the disposal.
Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose at the disposal, get a screwdriver and, insert in the disposal's dishwasher drain port and tap on it with hammer until it breaks off. Then remove that stub from the sink side.

Magic Chef DU4K is not draining all the water. There's at least a gallon of water standing in the bottom. I have cleaned the air gap assembly and drain line completely. They were even sanitized in hot water. I do not hear the water draining like it use to. When it worked properly you could always hear water draining into the GD. Now I can hear any draining. Again, there is no clogging anywhere in the drain line assembly. Is it a bad pump. I don't know where to go next with this.

Shu9925uc/14 bosch dishwasher leaves standing water in the bottom of the pump. The pump seems to be bad because it wont drain out the back hose. I have run the diswasher full cycle and put the drain hose into the sink to test. It wont drain at all now and I dont hear the pump. Perhaps unrelated: Pump seemed to stop working after the back hose disconnected itself from the back of the unit spilling water all over the floor. When I reconnected the unit to the wall the pump now seems to be disfunct

My model KUDP01IL dishwasher used to drain fine. Now it will not drain even after you press cancel. It sounds like the pump is running (2 minutes) but water remains at the bottom. Could it be clogged? How do you check or unclog it if necessary? I checked everything I could. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

GE GHDA485N 10CS Dishwasher that has standing water in the bottom after the cycle completes. I pulled it out and reconnected power and ran a rinse cycle. I could see that water was pumping out the clear drain pipe but there was still about an inch of standing water in the bottom. Any thoughts as to what part has failed. Does the system use a water level switch or a timed drain cycle to determine when the water has pumped out. If it is a timed cycle could a slow drain cause the problem. Thank you

Recently our GU1100XTLQ1 started having a problem. It barely cleans the bottom rack, and barely gets top rack wet. The soap stays stuck in the dispenser. I can't see inside as it runs, but my guess is that not enough water is being shot out of the various spinning arms. From looking at diagrams it would appear that this dishwasher uses a pump to circulate water from the bottom of the cavity through the spinning arms. Is my problem a dying pump?

Troy-Bilt 2550 20293 pressure washer not producing pressure. Worked when last used 2 months ago. Pump pistons are moving up and down when engine is pulled through. Water flows thru the pump when not running, but no flow or goes in by-pass mode when I start the pump. The pump being Troy Bilt Model 020296-01. I replaced unloader valve even. You replaced the unloaded valve. Are you positive you have the unloader screwed to pressure and not turned the opposite way? You will have no pressure if it is adjusted wrong. One other thing I have encountered is that the unloader has a ball bearing ... Pressure Washers

My plumber just installed a new water supply line for my dishwasher. Now the pump comes on but no water fills up in the machine. If I fill the bottom of the unit with water, it works just fine. Even though the water supply is ON, it does not pump water into the 'box'. Thanks, Art

Dishwasher: Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner. Has worked fine until had a house plumbing blockage which made water pool in the bottom of the dishwasher as well as kitchen sink. Tried to get it to drain at first using keypad. Drain light clicked on and then off because there was nowhere for water to do. Manually emptied most of the water, then "Cancel/Drain" worked if I held it down quite a while. House plumbing is now fixed. However the keypad only works sporadically now. Some buttons do so

Leaky Dishwasher I recently moved into a new house that has a brand new Magic Chef dishwasher. We haven't even had a chance to use it, but last night discovered water leaking from the bottom onto the floor. When I opened the door, there was about 3-4 inches of water inside. I baled as much of the (slimey) water out as I could, and that stopped the leak. Now afraid to run the dishwasher for fear that it might leak even worse. E71195 Type 777-0

My GE Nautilus DW doesn't fully drain. When it is drained as much as it will it leaves water in the sump at the rear right. If you run the pump at that point, it sucks water out of the sump, but when you open the door and the pump stops water flows back into it. It seems like there is a check valve that isn't working. I have cleaned the sump and the screen which runs accross the rear. I also have taken the plunger out and cleaned it. Then I took the housing for the plugner off the bottom. I don'

My tappan dishwasher is only 1 1/2 yr old and its not getting at least 1/2 of dishes clean. We have tried everything from changing to liquid soap, increasing water pressure at meter, not using while washing clothes. We used a dishwasher cleaner to remove calcium, and run hot water in sink before using. We know the wand, pump and drain are working. It is model TDB210RFB5 with 1.1A motor. Is the motor too small to clean dishes? I wish I could get my money back or exchange for an upgrade. Thanks!

But a couple weeks later again there was water in the bottom. It seems as if the water from the sink is draining into the washer. If I run it it runs thru just fine, n

It was not in use while I was away so I don't get how come it is not working now .It does start up but its like the pump is just not kicking in. Ihear water running but the blades dont move and nothing seems to get washed, any ideas. Or is a new expensive pump my only option? My Husband seems to think a seal might have gone.
