My two year old Bosch dishwasher is not cleaning well and is leaving gritty food on most glasses, cutlery, etc. Worse on the top but also not good on the bottom. I have tried cleaning the removable filter on the bottom and rinsing the two 'wands' - one on top and on the bottom so that the little holes are not blocked. I've tried using the power scrub mode. I've run the dishwasher twice with detergent and no dishes. This has problem has persisted over at least a month. Can you please help me?

After running our dishes through a wash cycle we noticed there was still a lot of food stuck on the plates & glasses etc. We cleaned out the trap but due to the murky water in the well, we also pulled out the racks & removed the bottom plate. The underside was greasy and had a lot of grim stuck to it as well as the bottom of the drawer itself. We washed the filter trap, swing arm and plate in the sink. We loaded it with the dishes that previously did not come clean and ran a full cycle. The

Kitchenaid dishwasher - small pieces of food are left on otherwise clean dishes. Water level comes to about 1 inch below heater coil. I ran it without dishes (or soap) and added about a quart of water so that level came to about 1/4 inch below heater and that's when I noticed food pieces on drain surfaces (nylon filter under bottom spray arm unit and circular plastic "trap" surrounding it). Spray arms holes are clear and water is hot.

It sounds as if you figured the solution out. The holes in the spray arm(s) get plugged by small debris, (tooth picks, seeds, bits of plastic like candy wrappers, etc) and the water does not reach the dishes to wash and rinse effective ... Dishwashers

I have a Bosch SHX98M dishwasher and the top arm will not rotate. I can see water coming out of the holes when open during a cycle and I have made sure there are no obstruction for the arm or anything stuck in the arm feed line. I just had a technician here who was at a loss and did not think the pump was bad since alot of water is being pushed around inside. The bottom arm works fine.

I have a three-year-old Sears Kenmore Elite dishwasher. The sludge restricts the water flow and there isn't enough flow to turn the impellers via that steering jets.
