Dishwasher not filling with water. It is not the float. GE PDW 8480 Dishwasher

Answers :

It could be the fill valve or that the power is not getting to the fill valve. Pull the bottom panel and find where the water line hooks up to the valve. There should be an electrical connector on the valve. First, listen when the dishwasher is at the cycle where it should be calling for water, to see if youhear a click of the valve opening or water running in. If not, and you have a volt meter, pull the electircal connector and check for AC voltage across it when the dishwasher is off - it should be 0, and when the dishwasher normally would fill - it should be something above 0 - it might even be 110v. If the voltage is ok, but the valve is not working, you need to replace the vavle. If the voltage stays 0, then something is wrong in the timer/control circuitry.

Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. Only about 1/2 the amount of water is let in when the pump turns on and the washing cycle begins. Opening the door shows that the water level does not reach the bottom of the float. When I close the door, the wash cycle begins again but stops after a few seconds. This is when the water begins to fill again. This time, the wat

Dishwasher will not fill with water. I've already checked the float assembly, that seems to be working fine. The water just doesn't seem to run into the machine. Little history on an unrelated problem: I want to mentioned that not to long ago my brother tried to put a bunch of celery through the garbage disposal. The sinks and pipes got all clogged up and we had to take them apart to clear up. Immediately afterwards the dishwasher stopped filling with water. I don't see how the two can be r

Frigidaire Dishwasher FDB740RC. Not cleaning dishes well. Just in the past couple weeks. When the dishwasher fills with water, how full should it get. When mine fills, it definitely doesn't go up to the element, and just barely makes it to the float switch (not enough to trigger it), makes it to just below the base of it, doesn't come up the side of it at all. Is this normal, or should there be more water. The Water valve has been replaced already.

Dishwasher cycles with timer, won't fill with water. Motor runs fine, drain and fill valves test fine, float switch tests fine too. Water pressure fine. I'm thinking the timer is bad and won't send a signal to the water valve to open. What do you think? Dishwasher fills with hot water. Float OK - water feed stops when full. Motor humms but no water spray (in all opperating modes). Cancel selection (with cancel button) and close the door. The water drains then the unit shuts off. Water feed OK. Drain Cycle OK. Looks like spray pump hung but do not know. Cannot find a reset button (as with disposal) or way to free hung pump motor.
