Having problems with your GE Dishwashers ?

Hello I have a Quiet Power 3 dishwasher that is leaving food residue on my dishes. The dishwasher is 2.5 years old and all of a sudden this problem is happening. I have not changed dishwasher soap. It seem like there might not be enough water filling into the dishwasher and not rinsing the dishes well enough.

If you live in a area with hard water, there may be a large buildup of hard water/soap scum in the bottom water reservoir where the pump, filter, and other working parts are. This is located inside the tub, not underneath. This scum/crystallized material can clog the water channels & filter so the water jets don't spray hard enough, as well as overwhelm the filter. Because phosphates were ordered \015\012removed from dishwasher detergents, hard water minerals can now react \015\012with the soap to create a heavy greasy-feeling scum. That scum can \015\012build up in the water lines, arms, bottom reservoir, and filter, \015\012providing an endless supply of goo to spray on your dishes. This can be\015\012 fixed. You need to remove and clean out the spray arms, the filters, \015\012and especially the array of parts at the bottom of the tub. I've seen \015\012up to 1 cup of coagulated/crystallized scum in the bottom of dishwasher \015\012tubs (I know this may be beyond many homeowners, so if you aren't up to this first step, then just try the next/second step but do it 3 times with no dishes in the washer). Once you clean out the scum, then run the washer empty with a completely full detergent cup on\015\012 the highest temperature setting, extra rinse. Before you start it add \015\012to the detergent cup 1 teaspoon of TSP(tri-sodium phosphate), a very \015\012powerful phosphate cleaner available at hardware stores. Your washer \015\012will now have all scum gone from the inner workings. From now on you \015\012must always fill both your detergent and pre-wash cups to the max and \015\012use a high temperature water setting, extra rinse. Chemically what \015\012you're trying to do is adding so much detergent that the scum-forming \015\012reaction is overwhelmed by the dispersant action of the detergent, and \015\012the extra heat helps this to be more effective. I am not a fan of \015\012vinegar in the wash cycle. Why? In some washers the vinegar fumes can \015\012reach the exposed contacts of the printed circuit board or touch pad, \015\012corrode them, and then your washer won't work at all, along with being \015\012very expensive to fix.

My viking dishwasher is not getting the dishes clean in certain areas of the dishwasher - they come out with food still on and/or greasy residue still left on. There is a white residue on alot of the glasses. Seems like it might be calcification - any way to clean the dishwasher to break down any calcification? might also be that water is not heating - how to best determine that? email is [email protected] and phone is 540-316-1263

The dishwasher doesn't seem to have nearly enough water in it. The upper sprayer arm doesn't seem to be spinning when running (I open the door and look really quick) and the lower one looks like it barely spins and barely sprays water. The dishes are barely wet and the soap is just laying on the bottom. The water is on, there are no kinks in the supply line. It sounds like it is running, and pumps pumping, but being brand new I am not sure what it should sound like. It certainly doesn't sound li

GE Dishwasher Sometimes it seems like water doesnt pump hard enough to wash the dishes. we always wash the dishes off and turn it on everytime we load it.

It could be a pump issue. Cleaning My dishwasher always leaves behind these brown small peices of crime. I use about 1 tsp of dry poweder (the repair told me to last year) and that helped with all the streaks on the dishes. I clean the traps often, clean off my dishes to the point as I might as well just do them by hand, and still I get these food particles or whatever it is. We have a good working water softner. I get so frustrated and it seems like such a waste of time. Any suggestions? Teree

We have a Sears Ultra Wash III dishwasher, model 665.1677993, bought in October, 1995. It is not filling with enough water to get the dishes clean. I took the water valve out and looked at it and it seems okay. It doesn't look like the valve is opening all the way - just my guess. A small stream of water comes out with good pressure, but it is a small stream. I can't find any screens or filters in the water line coming in. The fill cycle lasts only about a minute. Is that adequate? Steve

Whirlpool dishwasher doesn't seem to fill with enough water despite good water pressure. Therefore, pump sounds like it is cycling from pumping water for about 2 seconds to going dry for 2 seconds to pumping water for 2 seconds to going dry for 2 seconds, etc. Spray arms rotate only for the 2 seconds when pump is actually pumping water. Dishes do not get clean.

Kenmore Dishwasher model 665.1675592 doesn't seem to wash as well as it used to. Seems to have a low water level. Filler valve works, allows water in, but never seems to fill enough. No spray reaches top shelf, I think due to insufficient water level. It's like the timer doesn't stay on long enough for it to fill. Also cycle time seems WAY up, but if the timer is slow, how does it time out filling so fast? Looks like it would be slow all the time. Suggestions?

Hi, I have an LG LDS4821 dishwasher and it appears to stop working properly. The dishes don't seem to be cleaned at all. I can hear water pumping into the dishwasher, but when I opened it during a wash cycle, there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the
