Having problems with your GE GLD5850LC Dishwasher ?

Does not appear to have enough water in the dishwasher

\015 Our dishes do not get clean and most of the time some detergent is left in the dispenser. GE said over the phone that it was probably a faulty water inlet valve. We have replaced the water inlet valve which did not help. We would like to know how long the water inlet valve is supposed to be open, We have timed ours and it ranges from 40 - 42 seconds for each rinse and wash cycle. Also, the amount of water that enters for the wash cycle is approximately 1.25 gallons. Is this the correct amount? Thanks for any help.\015

Answers :

The water should come up about an inch or so below the sill of the machine. It is governed by a float switch, not the timer. The float is located near the front of the inside of the machine. Clean it up and make sure it moves freely. If probably is stuck. It governs the height of the water.

It appears that the dishwasher is not getting enough water. I have made sure that there is nothing blocking the door area so that the soap can dispense and I have reduced the amount of detergent to maybe a 1/2 Tablespoon. Have tried both powder and liquid detergents. Ran a sani clean cycle with the Jet Dry product for dishwasher used in the rural. I also run the hot water in the sink prior to starting the dishwasher to ensure the water is hot when it comes into the dishwasher. The detergent

My 13 year old Frigidair dishwasher (model FDB221RFR2) is not disolving the soap tab that drops in during the later cycles. We sometimes find the soap sitting on dishes or on the bottom. It appears that there may not be enough water but I'm sure of how much there actually should be. It also appears that the soap may be dropping late but again I'm not sure of when it should normally drop. I checked the inlet value and it appears to be ok. I also checked the timer (to the best of my ability) and i

My Asko D1606 doesn't seem to be filling/retaining enough water to pump actively through the swing arms. When I add a litre or so of water in manually and hold in the door catch, I can see it appear to start working properly. The tablet is still sitting on the bottom of the dishwasher after the cycle has ended and the dishes are still dirty. The pump sounds all right and it is emptying fine. Also, probably due to the lack of water, the cutlery basket has melted right through, and I am sure any p

Recently our GU1100XTLQ1 started having a problem. It barely cleans the bottom rack, and barely gets top rack wet. The soap stays stuck in the dispenser. I can't see inside as it runs, but my guess is that not enough water is being shot out of the various spinning arms. From looking at diagrams it would appear that this dishwasher uses a pump to circulate water from the bottom of the cavity through the spinning arms. Is my problem a dying pump?

Samsung DMR57 dishwasher - Food grit and grime is now being left on the dishes in the lower rack, especially where they touch, after washing. The unit is 1 1/2 years old. The problem seems to be increasing over the past few months. I've tried all the manual's recommended procedures, to no avail. It would appear that either the water is not splashing up enough OR the grit is not being flushed out sufficiently. The manual states (inside front page) that "This product keeps food waste internal

Water seems to be leaking into the dishwasher at the end of the cycle the water appears to be clean, so I am wondering about a seal of some kind on the hot water line leaking or whatever. My Kenmore Elite dishwasher (model 665.17462300) is not spraying the water from the basin in the bottom up through the rest of the dishwasher. The basin fills with water, then just makes a humming noise and appears to splash a little of the water around the very bottom of the dishwasher. When we cancel the cycle, it does drain out the water from the basin. I cleaned all the gunk and debris out of the basin in the bottom, but it didn't make any difference.

Kenmore dishwasher. The upper rack is not getting clean. Even very light residue remains. And, detergent is left in door at end of cycle. The bottom is filling up, so I don't think it's the intake valve. Also, all the blade openings appear clear. I am noticing that hot water is not filling the dishwasher when I first run the cycle. Even if I have hot water running in the sink, the dishwasher fills with cold or warm water. So, I think this is the problem. What should I do? Thank you in advance!

I find it odd that the dishwasher is filling with cold water if the water is hot at the sink. It sounds like the dishwasher is connected to the cold water line rather than the hot. Check under your sink; if you've got standard plumbing, the dishwas ... Dishwashers

I have a DU8000XX6 series Kenmore dishwasher that won't drain the water properly. There is about a half inch of water in the tub and the float is raised (not sitting on tub bottom). When I lift up the float a little more I can hear the float switch make. I would assume that when the water is high enough the float switch makes and energizes a solenoid valve in the drain to drain the water, but shouldn't it stay open until all the water drains?
