This motor can be released. This is a very common problem on GE dishwashers. First, make sure to unplug the power to the dishwasher (unplug the cord), it may be obvious but I still have to mention it...
\015\012

Remove the bottom kick panel (four screws, one in each corner). Now you should have the motor exposed. There is a large blade that is right in the middle of the motor with its fins partially exposed. Rotate the blade a few times until you no longer feel any pressure. Using a flashlight check the floor for any signs of water damage.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher model # KUDS25SHBS1 has started making noise. Noise happens when unit is draining so perhaps its the same mechanism that houses the grinder. Can definetly hear a clicking as something spins around to drain the unit. I have removed the washing armature and plastic skirt around bottom and felt underneath the skirted area, but don't feel anything caught or jammed. Noise is getting louder as more draining cycles are being utilized (i.e. as we use the machine more). Anyone have

Kenmore 17362 dishwasher was making a bad noise and now the motor seems to be locked up. I might have already un-jammed the motor by removing the cover on the bottom (inside), and turning the knife impeller on the outside of the screen, but I can see lint type material in the hole on the other side of the impeller. Hard to explain, but it is in the hole in the center of the unit and there is a screen like the knife impeller has behind it. I could clean this lint if I could get the door off. How

Have a Kenmore Freestanding Dishwasher that was working when hooked up to the sink. Whats the secret to getting the chopper unit back into the unit. There Tip was to use a small wrench or pair of pliers to compress the spring and align the unit. However , even with it fully compressed , the angle is right and it dosen't want to line up . I know to get it off, they advised to pull up. So it must be the opposite to replace it. My SGS55M72AU/65 does not get rid of its drain water, although that wee pump in the bottom is clearly working (which I could see after removing filters and pump cover). Dishwasher Problem... Hey, I'm sorry I can't seem to find this information anywhere else. I'm having a similar problem with my dishwasher (also a kenmore quiet guard) and I wanted to try to clean the filter. I'm not sure how to remove the lower arm of the dishwasher.
