Having problems with your GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher ?

Water keeps backing up on to my counter top from a drain on the sink. WHY?

Answers :

If you have a built in disposal in your sink, the perforations in the disposal screen are too small to let the water exiting from the dish washer's pump to go down the drain fast enough, or the perforations are clogged sometimes. The answer is to put a sink stopper in the drain of the sink, which will block the back flow.

The overflow air drain on top of the sink that is connected to two hoses under the sink is leaking. It leaks out the top onto the counter. I took it abart but am afriad I did not put it back together right. There is a rubber ring that I think must be for sealing and I put it directly on the counter and then screwed down the air valve over this and water s coming out of the air flow valve and all over the counter.

During the drain phase water bubbles out of this little vent like gizmo that is attached to the dishwasher by a white flexible hose under the sink and is mounted on the counter top at the back of the sink. It floods the counter top?

Hello. You have a partial blockage of your drain under the sink. This is causing the discharge from the dishwasher to come through that "gizmo". If you also have a garbage disposal under the sink the blockage could be there as well. Begin by disc ... Whirlpool Dishwashers

Frigidaire 2405 Dishwasher has a direct drain into the floor and is too far from the sink to be able to drain into the sink pipes. Can I add a loop of drain hose from the floor drain up to the counter height, about 30", then back to the floor to mimic the loop that would be created by running to the sink drain? I have been told that these new types of dishwashers require water remaining in the pipes to work properly. Thanks, John

My dishwasher leaks water from the top of my sink when in the drain cycle mode causing a mess on the counter top. How do I stop this leak? The plastic cover to the part which is located next to the faucet is cracked but there appears to be no leaks on the hose or on the part itself. Also, what is the purpose of this part? Is this the actual drain for the dishwasher and if so, why doesn't it tie directly into the drain?

I have a Bosch Dishwasher SHU3302UC/14 that will not drain. We initially thought the problem was the disposal because water kept backing up into the sink. Shu9925uc/14 bosch dishwasher leaves standing water in the bottom of the pump. The pump seems to be bad because it wont drain out the back hose. I have run the diswasher full cycle and put the drain hose into the sink to test. It wont drain at all now and I dont hear the pump. Perhaps unrelated: Pump seemed to stop working after the back hose disconnected itself from the back of the unit spilling water all over the floor. In between wash cycles, water seems to back up into the dishwasher. I had a plumber take a look at the drain and disposal in the kitchen sink to see if there was an issue there. He suggested to have appliance repair tech to come look and indicated that he believed that the issue may be the "cylianoid" valve. Does the this valve prevent water from backing up into the dishwasher after it has drained?
