GE Nautilus Dishwasher, how do you remove/clean the food catch screen?

\015 I've cleaned and removed as much food particles and such from the catch screen in the back, where the dishwasher drains out of. Although its been clean, it's still draining out slowly or leaves standing water. Its seems to me that smaller particles are actually caught in the screen itself. How do you remove the screen for cleaning? I can't seem to figure it out, and if it doesn't come out, is there a way to clean the screen itself so that the water can drain out properly once again?\015

My dishwasher is not working properly, i have cleaned all the filters and spray arms, but still have food partials all over dishes. I did use a knife to hold down door latch so i could see what was happening when the dishwasher is working. Water does come out of the spray arms but they don't move and the dishwasher is empty, also now the latch won't catch since i used the knife.

My dishwasher filter keeps getting plug up with large food particles. I take it apart and clean the screen. It works for a 2-3 -4 weeks before I have to do it again. There is a spinning fan on the screen. I'm wondering if this scrapper fan is working at all. If it was I think it would keep the small screen free from particles. The first thing that happens is the top cleaning arm stops working.' Thanks

Hi Judy. The only way to know for sure is to power up the fan independent of the machine and see if it still works. I have a Fisher and Paykel Nautilus DW920 dishwasher. However, the door to the detergent dispenser does not open reliably every load -- usually I have to open the dishwasher door about 20 minutes into the load and open the soap dispenser myself. The catch on the dispenser will have released, but the dispenser door will not have sprung open. I am not sure exactly what the problem is -- the soap dispenser door simply seems a bit stiff in its holster. Given a little nudge, it springs open fine. I h

I followed 'Mindcell's' advice on fixing my Kenmore QuietGuard 4 dishwasher, and I managed to clear out all the food particles that have accumulated. I suspect that is probably why the middle spray arm has not been very effective. However, in my repair, as I was screwing in the star screw that holds the cover of the foodscreen (the lower most star screw), I managed to overturn it and break it. Thus, the food screen is only held by a plastic clip, and from what I can gather, pressure from a

I have a three-year-old Sears Kenmore Elite dishwasher. I find that despite the fact that we scrape and rinse our dishes before loading the machine, after each three months of use (two loads a day) or so, I have to take the machine apart (spray tower, racks, bottom impeller, bottom screen housing, food grinder cover) and clean-out the food grinder area, for it fills-up with sludge. The sludge restricts the water flow and there isn't enough flow to turn the impellers via that steering jets.

I've had my Nautilus for 6 years and it cleans very well - but now, it won't drain fully and pools at the bottom of the unit. I have made sure that my garbage disposal was cleared first, too. and that water was draining properly in the sinks. I will need special tools to unscrew the drain filter in the dishwasher, right, or can I just use a pair of pliers to turn the little knobs? I am always careful to rinse all food off the dishes before putting them in the washer, but I guess I wasn't careful
