Having problems with your GE Nautilus 24" Built-in Dishwasher ?

Humming noise i have a GE nautilus GSD2200 model which has not been used more than 4 years that is giving me trouble.  it's making a loud humming noise (the noise comes and goes, comes and goes) which seems to be coming from the motor area at the bottom of the unit.  I stopped it in the middle of the cycle, but the water seems to be stagnant at the bottom.  any suggestion on fixing the problem myself?

I have seen this SOOOOO many times in my 35+ years in the appliance repair industry.......it is very typical....here you are this is an answer I provided someone with the exact problem not to long ago..............

This is a typical GE problem which I have seen many times...When a DW\015\012sets for a while not being used...the motor often freezes up....Take\015\012the front (lower panel off....find the motor assembly...(with the DW\015\012unplugged!!...very important) reach in with you hand or a screw\015\012driver...preferably your hand...at the back of the motor...there should\015\012be a impeller blade...you should be able to reach in with a finger and\015\012pull it down..it may be resistant so find a way to hold it in place as\015\012you reach up to the next impeller blade and pull down further...finally\015\012it will all of a sudden free up....after which you plug it back in and\015\012start it up...I am also including a step by step (no drain problem\015\012check list as you may run into an issue like this if it has not been\015\012operated for a while ....notice article # 5).

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
\015\012If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to\015\012see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there's anything\015\012blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher\015\012might not drain properly.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there\015\012is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the\015\012air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the\015\012hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting dishwasher.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\011Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\0112. Broken belt
\015\012\011\011\011Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it\015\012might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt,\015\012because it is probably too stretched out.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\0113. Pump
\015\012Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller,\015\012takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the\015\012water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the\015\012dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\0114. Drain solenoid
\015\012Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to\015\012drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the\015\012water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful,\015\012you might have to replace the pump assembly.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\0115. Motor
\015\012\011\011\011If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\011Replace the motor if defective.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\0116. Timer
\015\012\011\011\011Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).\015\012\011\015\012 \015\012\011

This is an add on I thought about later...if you know someone who has or if you have or can get and electrical spray (cleaner/lubricant) it has to be nonconducting......spray for electric motors or coils...it will help prevent this to a degree and the motor will run better.

I hope this helps...Good Luck and good day.....please rate my effort...the Fang
The motor is humming because it can,t turn. the reason it stops;it has a over load built in to windings fire prevention, solution;check out motor. Ire bye, ps you may be able to free motor out.good luck

My kenmore dishwasher, model 665.16473300 has stopped working. Now the lights just flash at the Smart Wash, Normal Wash, and Cancel. I've reset the power and it just comes back. I've taken the drain area apart and made sure there are no obstructions. The buttons seem to respond, as after I reset the unit (breaker), only the Smartwash button is flashing. I push cancel and then it starts flashing. So I think the buttons work, but it's locked up.

I own the Siemans SL34A006UC dishwasher which had the recall repair completed. Now it doesn't work right. The unit goes through any of the cleaning choices but when it comes time to drain, the unit stops for a few seconds, swishes water for a couple seconds, stops again, then swishes for a couple seconds, stops and then goes back in to regular cleaning mode until the timer reaches zero. At each drain cycle, it does the same thing earlier mentioned 3 times in a row, then back to washing. The unit

WP DW Mod # GU1200XTLS0: this unit filled with water and just stopped running. I have power to the unit. The control panel does not light up at all. Its wierd that I have power to the board and all the wires seem to have power! No burnt spots and no burnt smell on the board.Hmmm! Door latch and switches all check ok. Oddly it seems like the line power to DW goes all the way thru the unit and back through the nutural wire. Could the motor windings be burnt out?

I have an ASKO D3250 and it has recently started making a loud noise from the pump area. It starts as soon as the cycle begins and doesn't stop even if you open the door. It seems to stop about 90 seconds into the cycle. Noise is best described as a noisy solenoid but could also be some sort of actuator that is stuck. What part is the problem?

Washer makes a grinding noise while running in the wash cycle. I've confirmed the rotors in the unit are not hitting anything inside the tube. The noise seems to be coming from the drive mechanism underneath. The washer continues to clean the dishes in spite of the noises, but the noises are a bother.

You will likely have to remove the pump motor from underneath to solve your problem. Try removing the lower spray arm assembly down to the deck and check the pump impeller for noises. Noisy dishwasher my Kenmore quietguard 4 has developed an exceptionally loud hum/buzzing noise seemingly coming from the door of the dishwasher, when closed, locked and put on either drain or wash cycle. If the unit is allowed to sit for 1-2 days, the drain cycle will empty the tub without the buzzing noise starting. If anything else is attempted afterwards, like a wash cycle, the noise immediatley starts at a low level, then becomes steadily louder, until the full volume is reached, and does not

When the pressure cuts down I can hear more noise coming from the gun sprayer aswell. So not sure if the problem is in the gun or the main pump unit ?
