Hi friend,

    \015\012Tightening the fittings\015\012
  1. \015\012Step 1\015\012Remove the service panel that runs along the front of the dishwasher just below the door. If it is screwed in place, remove the screws with a screwdriver. If the panel hangs on hooks, pull the panel out and swing it up to remove it from the hooks.
  2. \015\012
  3. \015\012Step 2\015\012Check the end of the drain hose that connects to the dishwasher. If it's leaking, tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.
  4. \015\012
  5. \015\012Step 3\015\012Check the drain hose connection to the kitchen sink drain. Again, if it's leaking, tighten the clamp with a screwdriver.
  6. \015\012
  7. \015\012Step 4221_a1.jpg \015\012Check for leaks around the water-inlet valve. If necessary, use an adjustable wrench to tighten the compression fitting that connects the water-supply line to the valve. If the fill hose is leaking, replace the spring clamp that is on the hose with a worm-drive hose clamp. It produces more clamping pressure. Use adjustable pliers to compress the spring clamp so you can pull the clamp and hose off the valve. Remove the spring clamp from the hose. Buy a worm-drive clamp at your hardware store, then install it and tighten it with a screwdriver.
  8. \015\012Leveling the machine\015\012
  9. \015\012Step 1\015\012Remove the front access panel (see step 1, "Tightening the fittings"). This will give you access to the dishwasher's adjustable feet.
  10. \015\012
  11. \015\012Step 2\015\012Open the door completely and remove the bottom dish rack.
  12. \015\012
  13. \015\012Step 3\015\012Unscrew the dishwasher from the kitchen countertop so the dishwasher can move freely as you adjust the feet.
  14. \015\012
  15. \015\012Step 4\015\012Check to see if the dishwasher is level side to side. Place a small level inside the dishwasher so it's sitting on the bottom pan and facing parallel to the front lip of the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is not level, use adjustable pliers to turn one of the dishwasher's front feet up or down until you hit level.
  16. \015\012
  17. \015\012Step 5\015\012Check to see if the dishwasher is level front to back. Turn the level perpendicular to the door, and place it on one of the bottom ledges that run along the side of the cabinet. Check the level again. If the dishwasher isn't level, use your adjustable pliers to turn the back feet up or down until you hit level.
  18. \015\012
  19. \015\012Step 6\015\012Reattach the dishwasher to the countertop and reinstall the front access panel.
  20. \015\012Fixing a leaking door\015\012
  21. \015\012Step 1\015\012Inspect the door gasket. As it ages, the gasket can crack or become hard, preventing it from sealing completely.
  22. \015\012
  23. \015\012Step 2\015\012If the gasket appears solid, adjust the door latch so the door seals tightly. Loosen the screw that holds the door latch to the cabinet. Push the latch in slightly and retighten the screw. Test the door and readjust the latch if necessary.
  24. \015\012
  25. \015\012Step 3\015\012Replace the gasket if water continues to leak after you've tightened the latch. Most gaskets are held by compression in a groove on the door or on the dishwasher cabinet.
  26. \015\012
  27. \015\012Step 4\015\012Pull the old gasket out of its groove, using adjustable pliers (see illustration). Take the gasket to an appliance store to get a replacement.
  28. \015\012
  29. \015\012Step 5\015\012Soak the new gasket in warm water to soften it, then press it into the groove. Start at the top, then work your way down the sides and across the bottom.

    \015\012
  • \015\012\015\012If your dishwasher has an air gap, which prevents dirty water from re-entering the machine, clean it regularly. Otherwise, it could overflow and leak.
  • \015\012
  • \015\012\015\012Always use detergent that's made for your dishwasher. Dishwashing liquids and other soaps can create excessive suds that will leak from the machine.
  • \015\012
  • \015\012\015\012Occasionally, the main seal between the dishwasher cabinet and the pump fails. If your dishwasher leaks at this spot, have a professional replace the seal.

These dishwashers can leak at the circulation pump motor to sump coupling , the symptom will be machine sticking on anti-flood and if you remove kick boards and inspection covers below door you will see the water in the sump tray. remove motor and try re-fitting it for a better seal. it may work.as im sure the seal cannot be bought alone meaning you have to buy a new motor unit.

Leaking FDW60 I have a Hotpoint FDW60 dishwasher. yesterday it tripped our house electrics and then we had water flooding out of the dishwasher. Through a process of elimination I have now discovered that water is leaking from the drainage sump in the centre of the babse down onto the motor or other electrics. I have looked for loose hoses and there are none visible from the base of the dishwasher, can you give some ideas where the water might be coming from?

FDW60 dishwasher Hi My dishwasher is about 15 months old and the problem I have is that it seems to stay on pump and the Ecco45 light is flashing.  A repair company looked at the machine and said that the motor looked like it was leaking and water was getting in the bottom setting off the micro-switch.  He contacted Hotpoint who fitted a new motor today at a cost of £89.85.  Went to use dishwasher tonight and we still have the same problem.  The dishwasher started the washing programme for about

Water Leak My dishwasher is an Ariston Advantage AF250: I have been told that internally its the same as a Hotpoint DF55. It intermittently leaks water onto the floor from the front at its base during use. At one time it ruined the motor which I had rewound and at the same time I made a new polystyrene float for the base pan overflow switch. All was well for months, but now its leaking again. I have blown through the tubes from the drain filter well to the pressure sensitive switch, but all

Dishwasher leaking Our dishwasher all of a sudden started leaking. I've taken the front panel off the door and can see exactly where. It's not a hole or anything...it's at the front, left edge of the basin, the bottom left corner at the front. It seems that right after it fills with water, it starts to leak once water is moving around inside and washing cycle starts. It is as if big waves are being pushed to the front left corner and over the lip of the basin. I don't think the water level is to
