Having problems with your Hotpoint 24 in. FDW60 Free-standing Dishwasher ?

FDW60 dishwasher Hi My dishwasher is about 15 months old and the problem I have is that it seems to stay on pump and the Ecco45 light is flashing.  A repair company looked at the machine and said that the motor looked like it was leaking and water was getting in the bottom setting off the micro-switch.  He contacted Hotpoint who fitted a new motor today at a cost of £89.85.  Went to use dishwasher tonight and we still have the same problem.  The dishwasher started the washing programme for about

I've just (as of 10 minutes ago) had the same problem. I followed the advice given elsewhere in this forum and removed the bottom cover - water running out so needed a big towel to mop it up. I stood the machine upright and restarted it - no problem! it started straight away.
\015\012The question now is where is the water coming from? It seems there is obviously a leak somewhere and water is gathering in the undertray setting off the microswitch.

Have a Kenmore Elite Dishwasher (66513123K701). Was not cleaning dishes very well so we ran diagnostics on it and found a problem with the diverter motor (W10155344) so we replaced it. Now, the dishwasher is leaking from the diverter. There was a o-ring from the original diverter that we had to keep since the new motor did not come with it. Wondering if we should get a new o-ring/seal, but I cannot find mention of such a part anywhere. Is there a certain way to seat the o-ring? Is it ok to

Dishwasher I am getting a run around with getting my LG dishwasher fixed properly. We had a tech more than once come in and look at our dishwasher. It has not been fixed and never dried the dishes properly. It is now leaking and going to a "del" level when we attempt to wash the dishes. It is also leaking on our fairly new tiled floor and under our new kitchen cabinet. Your tech stated the dishwasher was not installed properly. The installation dept , Francine stated it is not their problem

I have a problem that appears to be a bad motor on a Whirlpool dishwasher. The motor costs $300 and the dishwasher is about 6 years old...Does it make sense to replace the motor or just replace the whirlpool diswasher (18 in unit = $600 new)...your thoughts?

I have a new Ariston LKF720 dishwasher. In part of its wash cycle it is very noisy - not water noise, but a grating motor-like noise. Is there anything I can do? Is there anywhere I can watch a dishwasher do a run and listen to its noise, Ariston or other brand? My Bosch dishwasher has had a problem since we had it installed. It smells like garbage after sitting for a few hours. This problem is there whether it has been run or not. Water is always standing in the large drain tube under the "filter" and it doesn't look clean. I contacted Bosch by phone as soon as this was discovered - in a matter of days after purchase - and was told by a rather haughty service person to leave the dishwasher door open. Not a practical suggestion even if it didn't sm

My Kenmore dishwasher, about 5 years old, is not cleaning well any more. Glasses look cloudy, and I assume the bowls and plates are not clean also, but that's harder to detect unless I hold them up to light. I use a rinse agent. What's the problem? Is it worth having a service person look at it or should I just get a new one? It's a Kenmore Elite ultra wash dishwasher.

Plastic Pieces We purchased our ASKO 1385 dishwasher 7-8 years ago. Over the years, I have found "small square, thin, pieces of gray plastic" inside. Where are these coming from? Also, we have replaced the drain pump 2 years ago and looks like we'll be replaced the main pump within the next few days as no water is going through. We are looking at paying big $$$ for that pump. Almost half as much as purchasing a new dishwasher. Is this a common problem?

Yes, I have the same problem and it is the upper bearing rack, not the pump impeller. The new bearing kit is $30.00 (another is available for $123.00-the same!!). ... Asko 1385 Dishwasher

Dishwasher problem Our Asko 1353 dishwasher stops halfway through its's wash cycle. I suspected the thermostat, as it seemed loose in it's holder and not tight against the tub. After I tightened the holder the problem is still the same. Also, the on/off switch (pressure switch?) does not stay in the on position and when I looked it over I found one of the crimp on terminals had melted. Short circuit? Too much resistance from bad thermostat? How do I check the thermostat before I order a new one?

I recently bought a different type of dishwashing detergent for my Frigidare dishwasher and my dishes look as if they have not been rinsed. They cycled all the way through the drying cycle so the detergent dried on and was difficult to remove. My Kenmore 16533 dishwasher all of sudden started running really loud on the wash cycle. I stopped the cycle, drained the unit, and looked for something obstructing--found nothing. Started it up, and the problem persists. The dishes do come out clean, however. The dishwasher is 6 yrs old. Is this a problem I could fix, or do I need a repairman? Is it worth the expense of a repairman, or is it time for a new unit?

I set up a drip system years ago and now am looking to replace it (old, worn, leaks) but the problem is this-I can't push any fitting (be it connectors, tees, etc) onto the main hose. Both hose and fittings are 1/2''. The fittings in the original system were not near as difficult to use-I also tried hot water (fittings) and ice water (hose), nothing. Is there any size difference between the old and new components?
