Having problems with your Hotpoint 24 in. FDW60 Free-standing Dishwasher ?

The fuse in the plug keeps blowing. Initially it would run for a while - sometimes 3 or 4 cycles - before blowing. It now blows the fuse the second that I plug in to the socket, even with the on/off button on the front of the dishwasher set to off.I'm keen to take it apart, but it's full of water as it blew mid-cycle. Is there a clever way to empty the machine without the power being on, or do I need bits of hose and sponges?A schematic blow up would also be extremely helpful.

Answers :

Lower the outlet hose into a washing up bowl, it should then Drain. Check the heater to see if it is earthing you get to it by removing the right hand side panel.

Dishwasher 66513752K601 keeps blowing the thermal fuse. (Bi-Metal W10258275). I have replace the Thermal fuse several times. After i replace the fuse for some reason after a few months or less it will blow it out again. I have also replace the front panel assembly after it stopped working correctly. I would like to know how to test the dishwasher to find out the root cause of the fuse issue. I don't want to be replacing the fuse every time and don't have the $$ to buy a new dishwasher. My Whirlpool GU2400XTP dishwasher keeps blowing the fuse. It sat up for 6months because the control panel went out and I couldn't afford to get a new one. Finally replaced the panel and the thermal fuse blew during the first wash cycle. I tried to put a 15AMP fuse in it's place to check it out before I bought a new thermal fuse and it too blew during the first cycle. Any ideas?

Are you replacing the wires along with the fuse? It is important to change the wires too as they are usually the cause for the fuse blowing. Be sure and get the fuse kit that includes the wires. \015\012\015\012Is your water too hot? Hot ... Whirlpool GU2400XTP Built-in Dishwasher

Blowing fuse... We've replaced the overheating fuse located in the control board area about 5 times. It has just blown again after using the dishwaser one time--before it would go about a month before blowing the fuse. It seems to get about a few minutes away from completing the wash cycle and does not complete the draining process. Help!! We don't know what to do next--replacing the fuse is costing about $15 each time, before you know it we could have bought a new one! Thanks for the help. Ti

Tim, this blown fuse issue was pretty common on this model. Whirlpool, which made this model came out with a fuse kit that included a terminal and heavier guage wire to eliminate this problem. It just splices right into the control board, easy job. T ... Kenmore 17024 Built-in Dishwasher

I have model number KUD 101TJBL0. I have spent about 300.00 on repairs. It keeps blowing the thermal fuse. I have had it replaced sev. times. My repair man has given up on solving the problem. I did read on another website that you need to replace the wiring kit that comes with the fuse. Me service man never did that and when I asked him about it he said that is not the problem and would not replace it. So, before I just scrap my diswasher and but a new one I thought i would order another fuse k

I started working with the Karcher KB4040 pressure washer and all was well for 1-2mins, then it sputered a bit and all power died. All hoses were still attached properly, it hadn't blown a fuse in my house and the fuse in the plug of the washer is working fine. When I switch it on I get nothing. Do you think the motor has packed in? I borrowed the machine from my neighbour who's away on holiday, so don't know much about age of the machine. Any advice much appreciated.

We have an Hotpoint FDW70 Dishwasher that for some time has had an A10 fault which although stops the machine some times 70% of the time it does a full cycle. However it is now tripping out the electric at the mains. It is not RCD protected, but does not blow it's own 13amp fuse or that of the fused extention lead it is pluged in to. Tends to blow after about 5 minutes. I know about the fault code A10 being 'Fill Valve Triac' but as not an engineer what is that? and what parts are needed and or

KitchenAid dishwasher: KUDS01FL - I have had to replace the fuse every year and now I can't even get through on cycle with the fuse going. It is now dead again! It almost makes it through the full cycle and then stops (fuse blows)- no power - and there is some water left in the bottom which I have to physically remove. I spent a fortune on repairs every year since I bought it and would like to try to avoid another charge. I appreciate any help that you can offer. Thank you, Carol

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner 3. It sat up for a few months because the control panel went out and it took a while to save up and order a new one. Now it blew the thermal fuse. I put a 15amp automotive fuse in it to try it, and it runs until it fills up and blows the fuse again. I am trying to figure out how to test the motor and the heating element to see if they are shorted. My local repair shop told me that they want to replace my new panel with their panel first, and that after that

Hobart LX30 Thank you for your help earlier. I figured out a way to get the machine running on 220. Now my problem is finding the intake for the sanitizer and detergent.
