Having problems with your Indesit 24 in. IDL500 Built-In Dishwasher ?

My Indesit IDL500 dishwasher cycles through (about half way) then trips the RCD in my consumer unit - anyone got any ideas?

Answers :

had this problem and apparently there's a 'float switch' in the bottom of the machine. This switch is a safety cut off and when activated can not just stop the machine but trip the electrics in the house. the reason for it activating is when food clogs up the drainage bit water can not drain and fills up the bottom of the machine. this then activates the 'float switch' as a kind of safety cut off.
the way to sort it is to disconnect the machine from the mains and drain and water. empty the clogged up food from the drain bit. then tip the machine back and a load of water will pour out (may need a load of towels for this bit or take the machine out the back and do it)
once this is done, plug it all back in and give it a try

Hi there I've got a Miele G572 dishwasher that works perfectly, except that it trips the circuit breaker when it tries to fill with water. The heating works, the timer advances, the spary arms rotate and it drains well. It is a second-hand unit that worked for about 3/4 of the first cycle, then it tripped the earth leakage detector. Cheers John

Hello, I have a Frigidaire Dishwasher, model FDB750RCC1. It will not fully drain. There is water in the bottom of the unit after the cycle is complete. As it is not full of water or leaking out of the unit when I open the door I am suspecting it is the pump that has broken? (the water must be draining to the overflow point and then stopping as there is nothing pumping it) Any thoughts or ideas for me anyone? Am I on the right track?

Our dishwasher was taking in water, circulating it but not heating it up or moving through the cycle. My husband took the control panel off and there were some scorch marks on it so we got a new one. He replaced the control panel and the dishwasher went fine for one night. It heated up and washed everything perfectly. The next day when we put it on it was back to square one plus the lights on the control panel are now not working. Just wondered if anyone has any idea what we could do or are

My SB908WL Westinghouse dishwasher is tripping the switch when it goes to pump out the water. What are the likely problems and solutions please! If anyone has some expertise that would be great. (I have recently checked the soldering on the main panel and touched one point up, the rest are fine it seems). The element is working as there is hot water in the unit. We have small kids so maybe something is jammed in there? How do I get access to check. All input helpful. Thanks!

Own a Frigidaire Dishwasher Model Number FDB4315LFSO and now after about 2 years suddenly the display will not light and function anything. Without pulling the power panel off the whole line circuit seems to have power as they have my disposal unit tied into same electric line and that runs and so does everything else and no breaker is tripped. Is their a reset somewhere to check or any ideas what can casue the display panel not to function any commands at all. Nick

Hi there My Bosch Exxcel Dishwasher is tripping out the fusebox RCD and I think there is an earthing problem. It will run for 3 or 4 minutes and then the house alarm goes off and the cooker clock needs resetting! I have tried to look in the back but don't know how to remove the panels. I've tried tipping it to 45 degrees to see if there is any water in the innards but non water came out. I have no idea what to look for - and no manual to help me get inside the beast! Thanks in advance.
