My sound conditioned Whirlpool dishwasher is real old. It fills up completely with water. It looks like it will overflow, so I stop it. I thought it always started washing from the start. Do they always fill completely up with water, then start washing. I never noticed. I am afraid the water will overflow. Can it? Last time I ran this, it had a real loud motor. I used to hear the motor running from the start, but now I don't, just water filling up to what looks like overflow if I let it. I baile

When I started it, it made a loud grinding sound which continued whenever it was actually washing/rinsing. It was washing and rinsing the dishes ok. Eventually I didn't hear anymore grinding but the dishes had not been washed or rinsed. The detergent cup was open and the detergent spilled down the door. I ran it again and could hear the pump running. It ran through the cycles but the water was not being circulated. I suspect that something is caught in the disposer blade or something and is bloc

I have a Bosch SHU43C06UC/14. A few weeks ago it was making a loud terrible noise during the entire cycle. We figured it was on its last leg but it was still cleaning the dishes properly. Then with no explaination the noise stopped and the machine sounded normal again. Today when I started the machine it makes the normal sound when starting but it acts like it is stuck at the beginning and does not fill with water. The timer also does not count down.

My kenmore ultrawash dish washer sounds like it fills with water but when it goes to the wash cycle, it only hums and no sound of water spraying. Any Ideas? It seems like I heard a loud ''click'' just before it first became silent. is something lodged in the impeller?

Kenmore (Whirlpool) 655 1589910 Dishwasher. Fills with water, motor makes horrible noise (buzzing / loud hum). Dishes do not wash and there is no evidence that any water pumped up to the spray arms. Spray arms are not clogged. We have a fully functioning water softener so it is not a hard water issue. Unit does drain normally. Either filter is badly clogged or pump is bad. How do I get to these parts to check them out?

Hi I have a LG dishwasher, model LD-2052WH/LD-2052SH/LD-2052MH. The machine is about 30 months old, and used very seldom. In the last two weeks we noticed a very loud "grinding" sound emmiting from the machine. This sound usually happens when you switch the machine on as the water if filling or the wash blades are rotating. What is the cause of this, and how can I get it fixed? I have two problems with my GUI1500 dishwasher. The 1st is that when water starts entering the dishwasher I hear a loud hammering/vibrating sound. It's strange, but the sound will stop if I turn on a faucet in the house. The other problem I have is that the soap dispensor will no longer stay closed. The Plastic tab that holds it shut has basically disintegrated. Will this cause the dishes to not come clean? Can this part be replaced? I don't see any visable screws holding it onto the door.

Hi - welcome to FixYa,\015\012\015\012The first problem isn't a fault with the washer, it's a plumbing problem called "water hammer", which is a resonating vibration through your pipes. The inlet water pressure is good and the dishwasher fills and starts the wash cycle, however, after the initial spray of water, it seems that all of the water drains out and there is nothing left to continue the cycle and wash the dishes. I have a Kenmore dishwasher model #17519200. I loaded it last night as usual and closed the door. I pressed the wash cycle I wanted and pressed the start button. I heard it starting to fill with water as usual. After it filled with water it should have gone into the wash cycle mode but it just started making a buzzing noise for about a minute or two then just stopped. I pressed cancel to drain it and it drains fine. I have kept trying to re-run it but it just does the same thing I described.

Item: Whirlpool Ultra Dishwasher Age: 3 yrs Problem: Not enough water to effectively wash the dishes. State: When the dishwasher is started, the fill valve opens as normal. When I start the dishwasher, it sounds normal. A few minutes after it starts, it makes a loud, thumping noise that lasts for several minutes. After a while, it stops making noise, but about half way through the cycle, it starts making the loud, thumping noise again. It's loud, annoying, and does not get our dishes clean. The whole interior of the dishwasher is covered with dried soap. I can also tell that water is not spraying around the whole interior. Any ideas?

Cranky dishwasher I have to admit my wife's solution is the only one that works. Our ten-year-old Superba built-in usually starts a normal cycle part-way through, at the wash part, without filling or opening the dispenser door. Therefore the dishes come out with the soil now baked on. Closing the door, selecting normal and start results in a pump-out sound, or at least just the pump running to wash the dishes.
