The dishwasher is not draining out and is overflowing

\015 The dishwasher is not draining and water is overflowing on to the kitchen floor. Does the dishwasher drain with a gravity drain or is there a pump that pumps the water out of the dishwasher? The dishwasher is about 8 years old and it is a Jenn-Air .Thank you for responding to my questions Best regards,Tim Cook\015

Answers :

There is a pump that pumps the water out. I would think, the pump is blocked, a common thing.. or maybe you have a blocked outlet hose,or the like. or perhaps your hose has fallen down? You need your hose higher than the DW outlet to stop it siphoning.\015\012

Dishwasher keeps running I have a Bosche dishwasher and the water keeps running. As long as we run it and don't stop it, the pump will continue to drain about every 3 minutes. But the water keeps running, filling the tub, and then overflows, flooding the kitchen and drains through our wood floors to the basement below. Our ASKO seems to have a similar problem. Hello, I have a Frigidaire Dishwasher, model FDB750RCC1. It will not fully drain. There is water in the bottom of the unit after the cycle is complete. As it is not full of water or leaking out of the unit when I open the door I am suspecting it is the pump that has broken? (the water must be draining to the overflow point and then stopping as there is nothing pumping it) Any thoughts or ideas for me anyone? Am I on the right track?
