Water level/dirty dishes and traps

\015 What should the correct and/or optimum water level be in the tub of this dishwasher for proper operation?\015\012There is water in the bottom of the dishwasher after the cycle completes. 1)checked the hose, it is not kinked 2) not hooked up to a waste disposal. What else could it be?? We also have water in the bottom, and the inside gets moldy and disgusting. Also, there's tons of little bits of food and junk (even with rinsing) all over the top rack things; we practically have to clean everything again ... pretty useless. Also, there's some kind of trap/filter at the top of the door that gets disgusting and doesn't have an easy way to clean it.\015

Kitchenaid dishwasher - small pieces of food are left on otherwise clean dishes. Water level comes to about 1 inch below heater coil. I ran it without dishes (or soap) and added about a quart of water so that level came to about 1/4 inch below heater and that's when I noticed food pieces on drain surfaces (nylon filter under bottom spray arm unit and circular plastic "trap" surrounding it). Spray arms holes are clear and water is hot.

It sounds as if you figured the solution out. The holes in the spray arm(s) get plugged by small debris, (tooth picks, seeds, bits of plastic like candy wrappers, etc) and the water does not reach the dishes to wash and rinse effective ... Dishwashers

After running our dishes through a wash cycle we noticed there was still a lot of food stuck on the plates & glasses etc. We cleaned out the trap but due to the murky water in the well, we also pulled out the racks & removed the bottom plate. The underside was greasy and had a lot of grim stuck to it as well as the bottom of the drawer itself. We washed the filter trap, swing arm and plate in the sink. We loaded it with the dishes that previously did not come clean and ran a full cycle. The

Hi! My bosch SHE43 built in dishwasher is about 2.5 yrs old, dishes aren't getting clean anymore. We have *really* hard water so I use the max rinse agent, but doesn't help. I clean the little canister filter with each wash, and just washed off that grate in the bottom. I also just cleaned the trap under the sink, but it didn't look bad at all. The problem is a grit left on glasses and things just not getting all the way clean. When I remove the grate at the bottom, there's a bit of water

Dishwasher drain is hooked to a food disposer and until recently the unit worked fine. Last week following a cycle a couple of inches of water did not drain out. All food is removed from dishes, silverware, etc. prior to loading and the food trap in the bottom is completely clear. I ran the unit empty through a Lightwash cycle and afterwards the water level (that which didn't drain out) looked to be the same as before. Cleaning My dishwasher always leaves behind these brown small peices of crime. I use about 1 tsp of dry poweder (the repair told me to last year) and that helped with all the streaks on the dishes. I clean the traps often, clean off my dishes to the point as I might as well just do them by hand, and still I get these food particles or whatever it is. We have a good working water softner. I get so frustrated and it seems like such a waste of time. Any suggestions? Teree

I have a Frigidaire dishwasher, FDB-1100RHC, that is not cleaning dishes. My fiance cleaned the trap at the bottom of the washer, removing both the small basket and the larger mesh grid. After replacing both, the washer doesn't seem to have enough water pressure to spin the lower and/or upper arms. If I interrupt a cycle and open the door, water is dribbling out of the upper arms, but they are not rotating and do not move from whatever position you place them in. Both arms are completely uno

I have a Whirlpool DU810SWLQ0 that will not drain. I've pulled the unit out, snaked the drain tube, pulled the motor/pump, and pipe assemblies, and cleaned the food trap, which I also removed. Kenmore Elite: - Stale smell from dishwasher, won't go away, lingers on dishes, glasses. I tried a vinegar remedy suggested by a diy site - it helps for a cycle or two, but the smell comes right back. Diy site suggested taking apart the dishwasher to see if there is food trapped: there always remains a little water at the end of each cycle - but I'm concerned about taking apart my dishwasher if there is another solution. The door, when we open it, has undesolved soap stuck in globs on the top of the door. The top dishes are not clean and some of the botom dishes are not clean. I just purchased an LDF6920. It does not dry the dishes. In fact, there is water remaining in the bottom, and all the dishes and drum and door are beaded with water. It suggests putting some sort of water removing chemical, but I have never owned a dishwasher that did not made some effort to dry the dishes. I have to hand dry or have spots on everything. I am very, very disappointed with my new, and expensive, purchase.
