If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to\015\012see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything\015\012blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher\015\012might not drain properly.
\015\012\011\011\011
If the drain hose is clogged,\015\012the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is\015\012very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage\015\012disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach\015\012the hose before starting the dishwasher.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012\011\011\011Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.
\015\012\011\011\011
\015\012Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it\015\012might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt,\015\012because it is probably too stretched out.
\015\012\011\011\011

Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller,\015\012takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the\015\012water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the\015\012dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.
\015\012\011\011\011

Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to\015\012drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the\015\012water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful,\015\012you might have to replace the pump assembly.

If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.
\015\012\011\011\011

Check all the above to address thsi issue.

My WHirlpool dishwasher won't drain - basin is full of water. Machine starts and runs the drain cycle, but something is clogged. I opened up the bottom, and pulled off the drain hose to the disposal, and that had no water in it, so the clog is somewhere before the water gets to the hose. If I run the dishwasher drain cycle, it is not pumping water into the hose. What next?

Magic Chef DU4K is not draining all the water. There's at least a gallon of water standing in the bottom. I have cleaned the air gap assembly and drain line completely. They were even sanitized in hot water. I do not hear the water draining like it use to. When it worked properly you could always hear water draining into the GD. Now I can hear any draining. Again, there is no clogging anywhere in the drain line assembly. Is it a bad pump. I don't know where to go next with this.

Everything seems OK but it is full of water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
